Honestly a motorcycle and bike line combined for a freeway would be pretty cool.
the maximum speed of a 125 cc bike (smallest bike that's not classified as a scooter or moped) is around 65 mph, so by putting motorbikes and bikes in the same space the problem of massive speed differentials would be even worse, making it extremely dangerous

and on the same subject:
a brand new motorcycle is like $5k lol. you can get a used motorbike for less than most used mid range ebikes. Give up on looking cool in the name of comfort, and you can get a 300-500cc scooter for even cheaper.
a 300 cc bike is way more powerful than any scooter, you could hold your own on the motorway/freeway with a bike that size
I used to own a couple of 600 cc bikes, and could easily get them up to 90 mph on the right road - even at that speed, they still had plenty of engine power spare

Like cyclists, motorcyclists are retarded, but a different strain of retarded.

Cyclists will take up the whole lane and/or screech if you pass within four feet of them, motorcyclists will happily lane-split and zip ahead of you. A motorcycle approaching a cyclist from behind is asking for trouble, because cyclists will often act unpredictably.

I propose giving every motorcyclist a free lance, after a few cyclists get skewered I'm sure they will pay better attention to their surroundings, share the hybrid lane, and let motorcyclists pass.

A leaf on /r/fuckcars takes the mask off, then the comments start up with "THIS IS WHAT CONSERVATIVES ACTUALLY BELIEVE" and "actually you get money back with the carbon tax!" defenses.

Repealing the carbon tax will make me worse off because corporations will keep prices where they are at, and the rebate will be removed. Even more profit going to (((Shareholders)))

An old Boy Scouts poster warns cyclists not to do anything stupid on a bike. The comments are what you'd expect.

Just like how people who watch YouTube channels with a vested interest in shitting on cities get a lopsided view of how cities are?

Nope, because "Fox News" is right about NYC, SF, Seattle, and Baltimore while NotJustBikes is wrong about Houston.

You'd think these "people" would be aware that the bystander effect happens and in cities where the population is either cucked or sociopathic, bad things can happen. What's their answer for that?

Pretty sure that mass transit has been an unpopular idea in American cities precisely because of New York City. When I rode on the New York subway when NYC was still on top of its game (2007) it STILL felt pretty ratty compared to systems in Dallas and Washington DC.

All the "third spaces" they talk about are where people spend money. (No one is going to church or a park). In big cities, any third place that's free (either by taxpayer money or charity) is going to be a homeless hangout.

What gets me about these guys is how they just go "society sucks, I can't do what I want." If you're a moderately well adjusted adult with a job you can have friends, do things, and have a great social life it just requires effort.
The world isn't going to give you friends and a social life you have to actually put yourself out there. Hell you can do it at your job if you find someone with similar interests. These people would rather stay inside and seethe about trucks all day. What a sad life.

That's not even the bystander effect, that's the "if I intervene I either get my spleen stabbed by a raging nigger, or I go to jail forever because the authorities are insane" effect.

It's funny because these people's idea of self-defense is waving bricks around at cars that have done nothing. Meanwhile when it comes to actual self-defense they are shockingly quiet if not outright negative.

Stop encouraging sociopaths and crack down on lunchtime rowdies.

To be fair, not everything is due to niggers, subway molesters and various perverts in Asian bughives come to mind.

Jason thinks drivers should be required to pay extra for using roads during rush hour:

1713228978105.png

A commonality among bugmen is seemingly doing everything in their power to piss off the everyman because their lifestyle runs counter to their own, and the only way driving comes across as less convenient is when you arbitrarily increase the cost of it. This is a particularly egregious example considering Jason consistently argues that car ownership is too expensive as it currently is. So his solution is to punish drivers more? I'm curious to know how he'd even implement this because whatever system put in place that I can think of would be more expensive to implement than it would be worth.

You really can't do congestion pricing for cars in a good way unless you force everyone to use toll roads. The fact that you can't is just inherent to how cars work, it's not "criminal" as Jason puts it. He also ignores that spending more time in traffic is inherently a cost even if it's not monetary like ticket prices.

Remember, New York's congestion pricing goes toward mass transit, not the maintenance of the roadway system. Despite screeching how "roads don't pay for themselves" they sure don't mind that extra funding at drivers' expense.

Honestly, the brick crossing is a great design choice. So many drivers and cyclists, heck, even us skaters don't understand how vulnerable a pedestrian is, so giving them a visible indicator absolutely will fix retards driving. You might not care about slamming into me crossing the street, but if I have a brick to throw through your windshield when you hit/almost hit me, you're gonna learn quick.

Better way to fix this would be to be stricter with whose on the roads, but western people are too afraid to be discriminatory, even if we should. Old people, jeets, and chinese suck so bad at driving its unreal, and somali's/africans aren't much better.
