He's fucking Net and Yoohoo, 1861 edition.

I call bullshit on that.

At minimum my children served in the US military in some form.

Rather than go send them to chill outside the country like Bibi's son being in Florida right now chilling.

The real Abe Lincoln would support the US military

No, he didn't support the military.

He owned it, molded it and made them obey his will.

He didn't let generals talk him down, he is the one that told generals to fuck off if they fucked up.

And when they decided to run against him politically, he pwned them at the polls.

I must say, despite the slapfight i am enjoying the history lesson on uncle Abe

Your welcome.

Also Total Theater Death.

And I was probably the last president who had actual control over the military.

Because a few years later, some cuckolds made a deal with the South to introduce Posse Commitatus.

Which basically made the executive really heavily on shadowy groups and bureaucracy to enforce their will in the most subversive manner.

Unlike me just straight up using the military like they do in normal nations. And it's upfront and right there and honest. Because I am honest Abe.

Update(1145ET): Israel's war cabinet has issued a statement, reported in the country's Channel 12 broadcaster, according to breaking reports:

Israel wants to embark on action against Iran coordinated with US, channel 12 says — Reuters
Channel 12 has cited top Israeli ministers to say that the military's objective will be to "hurt Iran without causing all-out war," according to news wires.

But the Biden administration has already said it will not back a retaliatory attack on Iran, amid fears of the situation spiraling into all-out regional war.

As for Tehran, it is warning that in the face of any Israeli assault it will hit back harder. According to BBC Iran correspondent Kasra Naji:

Iran's IRGC commander: in new equation every time Israel attacks our interests, assets, personalities or citizens, we will hit back from our soil. Israel's Def Minister: we won't accept an equation in which Iran responds with a direct attack every time we strike targets in Syria.
Recall that before the Saturday night Iranian attack, Israel's leadership vowed that a major response would happen if the Islamic Republic directly attacks Israel from its soil. Indeed that's precisely what Iran did - it launched hundreds of drones and ballistic missiles directly from its territory.

Meanwhile in Iran:

Iran has lifted suspensions on domestic and international flights from its capital, Tehran, the state-run IRNA news agency reported, possibly signaling a return to stabilization for now.

It comes as Israel weighs its response to the strikes and world leaders call for restraint.
Global airlines faced ongoing disruptions to flights after Iran’s missile and drone attacks on Israel narrowed options for planes navigating between Europe and Asia.

Lincoln was a Dictator in the old timer sense like Cincinnatus. The issues that happen weren't just caused by him and he didn't just engineer the Civil War. The entire thing was a long time coming, and had become pretty much inevitable since the 1850s. There was nothing he could do to avoid it by the point he was sworn in, the time to work a compromise was at least 20 years before and that came and went without such a compromise because the southern Democrats wanted their elite status and workforce, and the northern Whigs offered too little too late which led to the birth of the Republicans.

The murder of Lincoln is actually a bigger issue than most people realize. He was against a lot of reconstruction, he advocated for a quick reintegration the south and the rebuilding of it to make the Union stronger. The Confederates almost shat themselves when he died because they were sure it meant the northerners were going to go full Sherman on them over it but thankfully it didn't happen. Instead we got a corrupt "reconstruction" which didn't work at all and paved the way for Jim Crow and the Southern Democrats to come back in control without much change of the prevailing issues of industrialization and culture.

Good Lord Bibi read the fucking room stop this nonsense already take the W and go home. Fucker really wants Hadrian 2 Electric Bogaloo doesn't him?

And there it is.
Biden deploys the Dubya method of "electioneering by corpse pile".
For biden it's inflation and show trials.
For Dubya it was the patriot act and NO trials (gitmo).
he didn't just engineer the Civil War. The entire thing was a long time coming
The secession had gone peacefully until Lincoln insisted upon occupying federal forts in states that were no longer part of the United States.
The south treated these as troops "left behind" and quiet demands they leave worked.. until Lincoln decided to reinforce fort Sumter.
He did so deliberately, and expressed such to his generals at the time.
He deliberately provoked the south into firing, and even when provoked the South killed nobody in that incident.

Lincoln was a Dictator in the old timer sense like Commodus
FTFY
He jailed an entire state legislature without trial.
He had a literal secret police that shut down newspapers and DEPORTED his critics to Canada without trial.
It's arguable he and sherman engaged in the last medievally brutal "sacking" campaign seen in western history . Raping women, killing non-combatants, sacking and burning cities and leaving the unlucky civilians not to die by bayonet to starve in the elements.

That makes a lot more sense, though I don't see what it can be because her potential has been spent already. I guess she becomes RFK's VP or something, which is a more palatable choice for a never Trumper whom also hates Biden and Progressives. Both of them can potentially agree that the Pro-Palestinians are going too far in their rioting and anti-Semitism and derailing the party as a whole.
No idea. But she couldn't be RFK's VP pick unless his current one isn't anymore.

Huh.
So your family is very tied into the old money Kama'aina Haole New England missionary stock is what you're saying, right?
I don't really consider anyone but my nephew and brother family. I haven't met them or even talked to them. I have my brother and nephew.

For my brother I don't think it's old money at all. Nor missionary stock. More mid 20th century timeline.

For his wife. Based on research I did last night the connection is through "Uncle Jerry". Not sure if that line is part of actual hawaiian royalty or just cultural royalty.

I don't know if I can say more without doxing.

I might pm you later to discuss some of this since you probably are more familiar with things than I could ever hope to be.

Oh, so exchanging ballistic missiles isn't all out war? And what possible response could you do without getting more missiles back from Iran? At what point does the missile and drone attacks stop and not escalate? And what roles is the US going to play?

Israel hadn't bombed that embassy, we (the world) wouldn't be in this situation. If politicians cared more about America, we (the US) would not be Israel's attack dogs; and let's not forget our arsenals are empty of the weapons we would need to fight Iran. I hate clown world.

Isn't there a term for when this happens? A sudden crash of luxury good prices, becuase no one's buying them due to everything else being unaffordable? I seem to remember it being one of the warning signs that shit is about to hit the fan, economics-wise.
Necronomeconomics?
I don't know if I can say more without doxing.
No, please, do go on. :story:

Once again the specter of a major Middle East war has overshadowed the much bloodier and fiercer Russia-Ukraine war, and coming at a moment the Zelensky government is deeply struggling to attract more weapons and funding from Western capitals, most notably Washington.

President Zelensky has weighed in on the Saturday night large-scale Iranian attack on Israel, which was retaliation for the April 1st Israeli strikes that flattened the consulate in Damascus. What's more is he sought to connect what's happening in the Middle East right now to Ukraine.

Zelensky condemned Iran for the attack and said Ukrainians understand the "horror" of Iranian drones which have been deployed by Russia to attack Ukrainian cities.

"Ukraine condemns Iran’s attack on Israel using ‘Shahed’ drones and missiles. We in Ukraine know very well the horror of similar attacks by Russia, which uses the same ‘Shahed’ drones and Russian missiles, the same tactics of mass air strikes," Zelensky wrote on X Sunday.

"Every effort must be made to prevent a further escalation in the Middle East. Iran’s actions threaten the entire region and the world, just as Russia’s actions threaten a larger conflict, and the obvious collaboration between the two regimes in spreading terror must face a resolute and united response from the world," added.

He continued to seek to make a direct connection between the two conflict theaters as follows: "The sound of ‘Shahed’ drones, a tool of terror, is the same in the skies over the Middle East and Europe. This sound must serve as a wake-up call to the free world, demonstrating that only our unity and resoluteness can save lives and prevent the spread of terror worldwide."

He quickly pivoted from this theme of the Iran and Russia dual threats to "the world" to asking the West for more weapons. The Ukrainian leader emphasized that "words do not stop drones and do not intercept missiles," but only action in form of more advanced weapons systems from allies.

"It is critical that the United States Congress make the necessary decisions to strengthen America’s allies at this critical time," he said.

Back in November, Zelensky actually publicly complained that the war between Israel and Hamas is "taking away the focus" from Russia's action in Ukraine.

He made the remarks at the time while standing alongside EU Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen. "Of course, it's clear that the war in the Middle East, this conflict, is taking away the focus," Zelensky said in the surprisingly blunt admission. "Time has passed, people are tired... But this is not a stalemate," he had said.

Just had this thought.....maybe she reached out to him to try and get back in good graces there and offered him something to "signal boost", something that would enable him to step off the plantation for this one instance.

Fuck ive turned into Alex jones.
This makes me consider the impact of the Lahaina situation. Democrats have bent over backward to give criminal alien invaders tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars in encouragement for breaking our laws. Meanwhile, in Lahaina, where Democrat mismanagement led to 1000s of deaths and the destruction of an entire community, they got $300 and a lowball offer to buy them out of their property, which they were barred from returning to.

Personally, I would be furious over this. Hell, I'm already 2nd hand furious, just thinking about, it right now.

Not just weapons but also oil.

We've been playing a risky game of buy low/sell high with the nation's emergency oil reserves and the prices haven't dropped since the last time we sold. Our oil backups are way too low to fight an offensive war and it doesn't look like we'll get the chance to refill them anytime soon, at least not without printing a shitload of money and driving further inflation.
