Here was Tony's TikTok on the Cass Review. Very lazy, indeed.

The Cass Review, lets talk about it. #trans #transgender #lgbtq #transrights

The latest major anti-transgender attack has come out of England. The Cass Review, which was a report that was commissioned after political concerns around transgender people in England, was just released this week. And while everybody expected it to be anti-trans, I don't think people expected how big it would be, and how vehemently anti-trans it was.

So let's go over it. The Cass Review claims that it has looked at all of the evidence and determined that the evidence for puberty blockers and gender affirming care for trans youth is "remarkably weak." In doing so, it cast out 101 out of 103 studies that showed gender affirming care is effective and safe for transgender youth everywhere.

That's not all, though. The Cass Review actually didn't produce much new data. It only looked at a handful of clinics. And in those clinics, it actually found that only 10 people detransitioned out of 3,000 people that went through gender affirming care clinics in the United Kingdom.

Of course, that data is not enough to make an anti-trans stance. So the Cass Review releases this 388 page document detailing why it thinks trans care should not really be allowed for most people. And in fact, it even advocates for restrictions on 18 to 25-year-olds.

Now, it has since come out that some of the members of the Cass Review team had ties to conversion therapy, like the Gender Exploratory Therapy Association. And Cass herself, according to emails leaked from a court review on the Florida gender affirming care ban, met with Ron DeSantis picks to help ban gender affirming care in the state of Florida.

Now, this Cass Review is going to be used to try to draw down trans care worldwide. And we're already seeing people like the Alliance Defending Freedom and The Heritage Foundation put out information about it. The truth is, though, is that the Cass Review is not actually a scientific document. It's a political one designed to manufacture consent to target trans people everywhere.

How deep does the conspiracy go?

Andy Lewis, aka LeCanardNoir on Twitter, wrote a proper skeptic debunking of the troon claims the Cass Review is wrong. It can be viewed on his website here.
A comprehensive search was performed for all studies addressing the clinical questions under investigation, and over 100 were discovered. All these studies were evaluated for their quality and risk of bias. Only 2% of the studies met the criteria for the highest quality rating, but all high and medium quality (50%+) studies were further analysed to synthesise overall conclusions.

Explanation.

The Cass Review aimed to base its recommendations on the comprehensive body of evidence available. While individual studies may demonstrate positive outcomes for the use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones in children, the quality of these studies may vary. Therefore, the review sought to assess not only the findings of each study but also the reliability of those findings.

Studies exhibit variability in quality. Quality impacts the reliability of any conclusions that can be drawn. Some may have small sample sizes, while others may involve cohorts that differ from the target patient population. For instance, if a study primarily involves men in their 30s, their experiences may differ significantly from those of teenage girls, who constitute the a primary patient group of interest. Numerous factors can contribute to poor study quality.

Bias is also a big factor. Many people view claims of a biased study as meaning the researchers had ideological or predetermined goals and so might misrepresent their work. That may be true. But that is not what bias means when we evaluate medical trials.

In this case we are interested in statistical bias. This is where the numbers can mislead us in some way. For example, if your study started with lots of patients but many dropped out then statistical bias may creep in as your drop-outs might be the ones with the worst experiences. Your study patients are not on average like all the possible patients.

If then we want to look at a lot papers to find out if a treatment works, we want to be sure that we pay much more attention to those papers that look like they may have less risk of bias or quality issues. The poor quality papers may have positive results that are due to poor study design or execution and not because the treatment works.

The Cass Review team commissioned researchers at York University to search for all relevant papers on childhood use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for treating “gender dysphoria”. The researchers then graded each paper by established methods to determine quality, and then disregarded all low quality papers to help ensure they did not mislead.
So, the people promoting the Review as bullshit are:
- Erin Reed
- Alex Caraballo
- Evan Urquhart
- Mitchell Slater/ Gemma Stone
- Mallory Moore
- Katy Montgomerie

All of whom are troons. All of whom do not have the qualifications they demand of Hillary Cass.

I'm a little bit confused about one of Tony's recent appearances. He is not an athelete or a woman. Thus, it is unclear how he would be able to "unravel the mysteries of women's sports".

The Real Score: Unraveling Myths About Trans People in Sports with Erin Reed.

I'm really impressed by the sheer number of false premises in Tony's TikTok on the Cass report. He mischaratcterizes the report as "an attack on troons" and then asserts it was brought about based on "political concerns" instead of medical or scientific conerns.

Here was Tony's TikTok on the Cass Review. Very lazy, indeed.

He really seems to be calling it in more than usual. This should be a great opportunity for Tony; the Troon Faithful are looking to their faith leaders to assure them why exactly evolution the Cass Review is false. And he just lazily repeats the same three data points and moves on. He's clearly never going to actually read the thing.

Plus he's getting fat. Are we in a Depression Arc?

New entry on Tony's resume. Self appointed expert on "Christian Nationalism."

Who are the Christian nationalists, Tony? What form of Christianity are they seeking to impose? How will they convince people of this in what's maybe the world's most pluralistic culture to ever exist? Aren't you a deacon?

That is an interesting question because Tony recently tweeted that he first "came out" at church (because of course he did - the greatest likelihood of upsetting someone).

I disagree. It was almost certainly an uber-liberal church full of nice elderly white ladies who embraced him immediately. He mentioned recently that a lady at the church invited him into her home and nursed him through his FFS recovery. Tony was happy to take all that female support as he was recently divorced and newly transitioning.

The recent tweet that mentioned "coming out" was about that old lady dying; it didn't sound like they had been in direct contact for a while. After Tony found his feet in the "LGBT" community and felt like he didn't need the church's support anymore, he dropped all those kindly old ladies like a hot potato.

I guess the only thing Zach has going for him is that Tony can't drop his current troon circle quite as easily as he has dropped all his other social circles throughout his life; his options are limited because he can't grow his dick back.

Thread tax from TERF Twitter. Look at Tony nestled in there!

Now, lets compare Tony's crazed meltdown with what is actually going on in the reality the resot of us live in.

Scotland halts prescription of puberty blocking hormones for minors as gender identity service faces scrutiny

London — The only gender identity clinic in Scotland has paused prescribing puberty blockers to new patients under 18 years old, mirroring action taken by England's health authorities after a landmark review found young people had been let down by "remarkably weak" evidence backing medical interventions in gender care.

The report, commissioned by Britain's National Health Service, also found that the "toxicity" of the debate around gender identity meant physicians were operating in fear.

Dr. Hillary Cass, who led the review that produced the 388-page report published earlier this month, said "we don't have good evidence" that puberty blockers are safe to use to prevent changes that come during puberty. "It is unusual for us to give a potentially life-changing treatment to young people and not know what happens to them in adulthood, and that's been a particular problem, that we haven't had the follow-up into adulthood to know what the results of this are," Cass told CBS News partner BBC News."

Europe begins to shift on gender medication for kids

As a result, England’s NHS will no longer be offering puberty blocking hormones to child patients, with the exception of those involved in clinical trials. England cited lack of evidence of their benefits, as well as concerns about possible harms associated with the drugs, as reasons for the change. Similar restrictions have appeared in other regions of Europe as far back as 2020, when Finland made psychotherapy the primary treatment for children with gender dysphoria. Sweden too made moves to restrict hormone treatments for minors in 2022. In December of 2023, Norway also limited the prescription of hormones to those involved in clinical trials as well. Meanwhile, in Denmark, the public is waiting for the release of new guidelines for the administering of hormone treatments to adolescents. These guidelines are expected to come out by the end of 2024.

Oh look they finally found a troon who's a medic (who has zero experience in paediatrics, and gets his medical info from tony)
For extra seeth I hope actual female doctor Cass does her next review on trooning in mid life crisis men

I note with the gravest concern that this is the SECOND troon physician (allegedly) getitng their medical information from Tony's fan fiction blog.

ROFLMAO at "sham reports."

It does seem noteworthy that the mythological "errors" in the Cass review can only been seen by extremist troon activists and only when they put on their magical troon glasses.

Here is my new favorite line from Tony's insanely delusional debooking:

"The Cass review is unikley to be taken seriously by courts and legislatures!"

"While the full impact of the Cass Review will not be known for some time, it is likely to significantly affect England, where transgender care is already heavily gatekept with extremely long waitlists. Additionally, it is probable that anti-trans organizations in the United States will cite the review to justify further bans on care. However, similar to other "reviews" conducted in countries or states like Florida, where transgender medical rights are under attack, the review is unlikely to be given much credence by many United States judges, legislators in states without significant political opposition to care, and medical organizations that have remained steadfast in combating anti-trans disinformation. Nevertheless, worldwide, the Cass Review carries forward the same types of attacks advanced in Florida, and could have significant negative impacts on transgender people globally should their recommendations be put into effect."

Hilary Cass' NHS report is rife with debunked theories and falsehoods
This is a word-for-word reprint of his blog post, "Cass met with de Santis pick ...". I can't believe an actual publication is publishing this shit. This is actually dangerous: we now have a big, influential gay publication claiming that science, modern medicine, and the scientific method are "debunked theories" and "falsehoods"- a whole subset of people who are basically on another planet as regards standards of medical care and scientific epistemology. Fuck I really hate Tony sometimes. I'd normally rail against "misinformation" talk and the like, but in this case it's really becoming a problem.
She says Tony’s “work” is misinformation and the people doing the actual
I could not disagree with her more, and that person replying to her there makes a necessary point. Of course the professionals don't speak about Tony - they don't know who he is. The people he is influencing in a very dangerous way are the laypeople who get their info on this stuff from his blog.
Tony appears to be suffering from a Van Goh style descent into madness.
What interested me about this was the headline being prefaced with "opinion." Why is he suddenly, just now, labelling his blog posts as "opinion"? Makes me wonder if someone has complained to Substack about the monetisation of health/medical misinformation on his blog ( :optimistic:). It's also possible that it's being published somewhere else with the "opinion" label and Tony has just copied the same text to his own website in exactly the same format (far more likely).

Benjamin Ryan is officially my new favorite orbiter of the Tony Reed Universe. Tony did the The Majority Report (sorry I refuse to watch) but Ben has my back with the debunking of Tony's Cass debunking. The Twitter thread won't archive but I took screenshots.
