There's a difference between carrying AIWB or IWB with a holster and pointing the gun at your cock pulling the trigger. I think it was r/weekendgunnit that got banned because they couldn't stop shooting themselves for reddit updoots. But yeah I remember the internet freaking out about IWB carry and it was 50/50 people refusing to point a gun at their nuts and gun nuts refusing to stop doing it for the lulz, no surprise someone with more money than sense fucked themselves up in an even more dramatic way than the classic "I just fucking SHOT myself!"
I remember seeing this video going around a while ago. All I have to say is that it's a PSA Dagger and I have the exact same one. This man should off his dick. Reminds me of the good old days of the internet from the pain Olympics.
Too bad he is not going to seed anymore.Pretty sure he actually did the sneed.
I'll have to look into the CMMG stuff, looks like it's intended for AR-15 5.56 to .22LR conversions generally? I have a bolt action Marlin .22LR if I want accuracy for long plinks, and a completely stock 10/22 Sport (I think it has an 18.5 inch barrel) but I like the idea of it having a shorter barrel in general for a close to mid range bullet pisser lolTbh I like the CMMG bolt way way better. I feel like it's capable of better accuracy if using an aftermarket dedicated barrel, and the higher cap mags are generally better. That said, the 10/22 can be much more compact and low profile if you do a pistol type setup. The AR body is way too fucking bulky for a .22lr, especially for a pistol setup.
There's two versions, the one with the fake 5.56 case end, and a collar with a half inch hole. The fake case one is fine, but that 2 inches of free bore straight into 1-7 rifling is terrible for accuracy. Before I machined mine to work with a dedicated barrel I was getting 6 inch groups at 30 yards from a 10 inch barrel.I'll have to look into the CMMG stuff, looks like it's intended for AR-15 5.56 to .22LR conversions generally? .22lr CMMG ARs with the collar are all over the place here in the UK, used to own one myself and it was acceptably accurate, but I shopped it in for a Tikka T1x UPR as i'm more interested in very accurately, very quietly filling my freezer with rabbits than Practical Minirifle. There's two versions, the one with the fake 5.56 case end, and a collar with a half inch hole. Palmetto has the collar one for $99 usually, that combined with a BoreBuddy barrel should be pretty solid.
BoreBuddy sells all kinds of expensive shit, most you can live without, but if you can I'd recommend printing a weight and putting in some tungsten or lead rods. If not, his weight is good if you want better groups and reliability suppressed.
For my guns I bought a barrel blank when Brownells had one for like $80 shipped, so I did a 20 and a 4.5 inch upper. I don't buy anything better than Aguila or CCI standard, but the 20 inch is definitely capable of really good groups.
I agree. I've got my grandad in laws Mossberg 46M B for filling the pot with squirrel and rabbit. But I won't lie. It would be cool to have a fast bullet dumper for fun..22lr CMMG ARs with the collar are all over the place here in the UK, used to own one myself and it was acceptably accurate, but I shopped it in for a Tikka T1x UPR as i'm more interested in very accurately, very quietly filling my freezer with rabbits than Practical Minirifle.
Oh absolutely, i'd definitely have one again if I wasn't under our loicensing regime but it is what it is. Mine was built on a Spikes upper and lower, various magpul dressup bits, it was a fun gun even if it did have a tendency toward hammer follow if you fed it anything but minimagsI agree. What if the receiver is turned upside down inside the chassis? Trigger's gonna have to be reworked of course, but that should allow for top-loading mags.I found this P90 mod for 10/22 and it looks like it could be pretty awesome since it uses the factory barrel but bullpups it. I'm only a little sad they didn't find some way to make a top loading mag work lol
I was thinking about that myself! Seems like a custom job that could be pretty cool and fun, but definitely more involved than swapping the stock alone. Probably have to design a custom magazine for the top load too, wonder how many .22 rounds could fit since the original p90 holds 50 in the horizontal mag. What if the receiver is turned upside down inside the chassis? Sounds like it could be 3D printed, mag too. Just need to figure out trigger linkage and all that.I was thinking about that myself! This is a pretty late reply, but I got my ass burned on a Springfield 1911. The mil-spec absolutely is NOT mil-spec and has all kind of weird and subtle parts compatibility problems. I replaced it with a Rock Island and it's just a better gun.I’ve been doing my own research but I figured I’d ask the 2A enjoying Karen Farmers as well: Are RIA 1911’s a go or a no-go?
I want to round out my “collection”/arsenal with a .45ACP handgun and while I have the money to buy a USP and tacticool larp, I’m fascinated by how seemingly simple 1911’s are and how they’re engineered. I could always drop more money on a Springfield but the reviews seem to be pretty acceptable for RIA 1911s.
If I wanted to continue my 9mm kick I’d probably get a Staccato but I want to get into .45ACP this year.
