The 80s/90s nostalgia is part of, but the other part of it is Ethan hates anything that isn't under his banner or he thinks he can bring under his banner.

Even his dislike of manga is inconsistent because of that.

Notably, KA is shit, and Dragonball Z is "amateurish" (yes, he actually once said that), but the things Raging Golden Eagle shits out is good, or even JDA's A Highscool Girl in the Crusades.

The difference? CG affiliation. Ethan's opinions are extremely malleable depending on whether you pay tribute.

Few in the comics sektur can get along with that many creators from project inception to print. Graham Nolan put out an anthology comic but you read the cover price right, $50 bucks. Way too fucking much to put out a magazine traditionally regularly. We'll see how many of those Rippazines Eric July manages to make. These guys are too boomer to release on the web which is the way Shonen Jump and literally everything else has gone. Print and magazines are a dying thing and have been for 10 years. In the USA even long running print magazines like Popular Science, Entertainment Weekly and Playboy are no more.

To add a little bit to this point, being stuck in the 90s also means that his understanding of manga/anime is stuck in the same time frame.
In the early 90s, most people's (in the US anyway) exposure to anime was probably through stuff like Akira, or Fist of the North Star, or one of the other US releases of 80s titles that could end up at a Blockbuster somewhere. Some may have even heard rumors of "tentacle rape cartoons".

That's where Ethan is on anime and manga. It's either hyper violence and tentacle rape, or it's Sailor Moon. That's all it could possibly ever be.
It's not even about superheroes, so how could it even be comics?

The Friday ARCA practice session is almost sure to be a rainout. If any part of the real NASCAR events need to be rearranged the ARCA race on Saturday will be the first thing cut to make room.

Watch the make-up race they give him for the rental car be in a Jasper, AL, Kmart parking lot next June.

Postpone untill when though? They aren't holding Talladega Superspeedway open through next week to run an ARCA race. They'll run it somewhere else at a future date if it can't fit in Saturday.

I don't know when, but I'm guessing they will reschedule. Talladega is kinda a big deal. I think it's one of only two superspeedways on the calendar. Judging by the weather forecast, it's not just the ARCA race that is in peril, but everything including the Cup.

Don't get me wrong. I think it would be funny as shit if they just straight up canceled it altogether. It might indicate that none other than GOD himself is getting sick of FROG's shit. Though it might have been more considerate for the Almighty to simply strike the FROG cars with a lighting bolts before the race or something. Less effect on others.

That sucks. But sped or not, he seems to have a decent work ethic. Just doing this part time he seems to be able to put out at least 2 or 3 books a year. And while they mostly seem to be knockoffs, I can see him getting bigger down the line.

Part of the issue with anime/manga is that they are loss leaders. These companies make their money via merchandising and whatnot. Putting out comics without the intention of making money will be a difficult thing to compete against. While possible, I don't see many of these independents accomplishing that.

Kind of sad when you consider the Talladega car campaign is nearly $130,000.

EVS has privated/deleted the video. But I saved it. When I have time, will see if I can post snippets. But basically, Camelot told his story on his stream and EVS was watching. And while Camelot didn't outright say the name. The description made EVS jump up and say Az. A couple streams later, EVS says about Az that nobody called him a sex pest.
