They aren’t going to fast track her because she was discharged from that service last time for non-compliance. Plus it would be months to years on the waitlist just to get an appointment. While it’s now 5 years since her discharge for non-compliance, meaning they might accept a refers again, she’s not getting onto the program this quickly even if she’s trying to.

She doesn’t have the finances to go private for WLS, and even if she did she’d unlikely pay to have it in Canada when it’s so much cheaper elsewhere (e.g Turkey or Thailand).

I am not clear why she wants wls. Sure, she would be losing weight at the beginning, but she does not intend to eat less.

Further to the above, her health issues, such as her high blood sugar, high blood pressure, coagulation disorder , etc, would have to be stabilised even before to be considered as a candidate for any surgery. Except for extraordinary cases, bariatric surgery is elective and Chantal is in no physical shape to tolerate any surgical intervention.

I mean not to get pedantic, but in the post you quoted it says she has to see a psych before she could be considered. That's exactly what I am saying. She may actually be attempting to be considered. I don't think they ask the patients to lose weight straight off before they're considered. She'd have to do the psych appointments and eating disorder treatment and stuff. Would also track with her recent bitching about how no one understands her issues.

I know I always get disagreement because it's an average 2 years to get a GP in Ottawa or something, but that's an average and it sure sounds like it varies a lot person to person. She may have even been able to get an appointment to the psych/eating disorder clinic from an emergency/walk-in visit. Also, this all could have been started a long time ago - in the works for a year even, and we wouldn't necessarily know about it. Particularly if Chantal wasn't sure she'd follow through.

It just really seems suspect that she'd actually attend a therapy visit unless she was getting something out of it (and not mental wellness).

Edit: for the record, I don't think she'll follow through and get WLS, but she might be acting like she'll consider it for Schmee's sake or something.

Oh man, I missed her bullshit cope diets like the intuitive eating. She'd pound alfredo pasta and say with her mouth full of food, "My body knows what it needs". The slop sounds were awful but it's hilarious in retrospect.

If she had untreated ascites, she'd be way worse off than she is currently because that would be a sign of liver failure and if she was going through liver failure, we'd know. Hell, she'd know. That's not something you can just ignore long-term. Eventually, she'd possibly turn jaundice and her ammonia levels would get so out of whack due to not being properly processed that she couldn't function without something like lactulose.

Once you're to the stage of fluid building in the stomach, you're pretty much knocking on death's door without a liver transplant.

Chantal is down bad but she's not that bad just yet. She's just really fucking fat.

My ex wife had WLS 15 years ago when we were still married. WLS is serious surgery and is life changing and I had a front row seat to it all.
If Chantal has the stomach bypass like my Ex did, she CAN'T eat like she wants --- it'll all come back up.
Also I know of several people who had WLS, lost a ton of weight and were at their healthy weight and a year or two later dropped dead.
The weight loss and diet change was too late and the damage to their bodies was done and permanent and ultimately fatal.

If Chantal had WLS 5 years ago it would have made a difference for her health and life span. Now I'm afraid it is probably too late.
In addition she is in such horrible health that most surgeons won't touch her because she would probably not survive the surgery.

She wants the result. She's not up for the process. I wonder if Salah is giving her the "You need to get huhlssy" rigamarole again.

I honestly have never seen anyone so psychologically addicted to food. Every childhood memory of hers revolves around it. Who the fuck else remembers exactly what they were fed when they were five???? So if she's not willing to go through INTENSE therapy (which we know she won't), she's perpetually fucked (though not literally....obviously). Also remember, when she lost weight on the meth/Ozempic doiet, she started taking mass quantities of edibles to get her appetite back. Food is literally her one and only coping mechanism.

I remember during one of those very brief "things are going good with Nader" moments, he got her pay for dual memberships to a gym, and she had an "anxoyity attack" in the parking lot on the first visit. Later, she was crying on stream in the video about how she would never be able to live up to his expectations.

In Canada that happens through the ED clinic. She’s not doing this appointment for WLS. It might be a condition that has been imposed on her to access medication. I know psychs don’t prescribe, but a Dr might be requiring it before prescribing something.

Also, this all could have been started a long time ago - in the works for a year even, and we wouldn't necessarily know about it. Particularly if Chantal wasn't sure she'd follow through.

I'm finally gonna bite on this one. Everyone says it like, oh, she's a goldfish and can't think more than 20 seconds in the past, or whatever. But there's planning ahead, like, " I'm going to save back 20% of my income for emergencies and eventual retirement" and there's planning ahead like "ok the soonest appointment is in a year. I'll take it, and in modern times they'll send reminders way ahead of time, and all I have to do is hurple in to the appointment at this time/day with nothing required in between."

She is absolutely incapable of the first kind. Agreed. The second kind? If it's currently worthwhile she'll follow up on stuff that was scheduled a long time ago. Because why wouldn't she? I'm confused why everyone thinks she can't ever keep any appointment, ever, thread canon, period. She's not a bright human, but I really feel like she's capable of attending an appointment that she sees to be in her benefit that she is reminded about.

She’s not booking or waiting for appointments a year out when she’s living overseas. She’s not paying over a grand to fly back for them. Sure appointments can be cancelled if no longer wanted, but Chantal doesn’t even do that, she just no shows because she can’t be bothered getting out of bed, or having a shower etc.

Shenanigans, you can get really autistic about this stuff, and I'm definitely not going to go back in time and cite you examples of Chantal keeping appointments that were to her benefit before. Suffice to say I'm afraid you don't have an actual PhD in Chantalology and your observations aren't the only ones worth considering.

She can either pay "over a grand" to fly back to Kuwait Canada for an appointment made last year, or she can pay three times that out of pocket in Kuwait to get lesser treatments because she's not a citizen. She has health issues she can't ignore anymore and it's gonna cost her a shitload either way, unless she actually decides to stay in Canada (X).
