actual ontological evil, if i've ever seen an example of it. and if trump does win, it will be another worldwide sound, just like it was in 2016. it would be very nice to see, even if nothing changes, just for a spot of hope.

It's literally the most slanted trial I have ever seen, and to say that given the caliber of previous shit in this state is saying a lot.
The judge literally changed availability days to remove the odds of getting a Jewish jurist. This matters because NY's orthodox Jew community is 100% in the bag for Trump - something you can thank the previous 2-3 administrations for and which got ANTIFA on their ass. They've also repeatedly gotten rid of jurors who are even slightly conservative while at the same time allowing past several jurors with open biases until inevitably, they get exposed and are forcibly removed because there's certain lines even NYC's shitty jurisprudence won't broach.
The more you look into the judge and prosecution of this case, the more the nakedly partisan nature of it comes out front and center. Not even the trial against Alex Jones was this much of a shit-show, and I'm pretty sure that's the biggest reason the Don's maintained decorum so far.

I think about this a lot, how Trump called their bluff on every smear, either through ego or realizing he doesn't care what they said in the past. Politicians need to act like this, Gaetz proved you can get through it and at this point the more they lie about a smear, the more it's unbelievable. Which makes it being a truth even better for you, if that's the case.

I suspect its just the left catching up to the right in so far as independent individual journalism goes. We saw that explode in the right over 2020 between the various election and covid story suppressions, banning of certain positions and opinions, and generally the entire media arrangement turning hostile against them. Queue the explosive growth of 3rd party sources, apps, and individual autists discussing stuff.
Now the Lefts starting to catch up, just for different reason - They want to know what's going on too, but the mainstream media sources they use are running a lot of quiet cover, delaying or underplaying stories. Meanwhile, lefties are just as susceptible to wanting to be the famous "that guy" who broke a story, perhaps inspired by some of the right wingers who blew up from doing the same. These people rush to get news and details out just as fast as everyone else, but unlike mainstream sources, their filters are not as clever. At best, they try to run cover (And here's why its a good thing) without realizing the cover just makes the damage more glaring. Hell, a lot of them are telling the straight truth of a story right out the gate, trying to defuse a perceived right wing exaggeration of what actually happened, but the truth alone usually still hurts. However you slice it though, they're now end-running the normal leftie media sources the same way the right started end running them.
Then the usual internet virality effect kicks off, except the people breaking the undesirable news are often clean from the leftie side and can't easily be shut down, dismissed or cancelled. So it propagates, and they gain more credibility in this new area of media, and the cycle reinforces itself. And for what its worth, this is probably a good thing for you and me, but a terrible outcome for any real effort to control the narrative. They got the democracy they wanted, but in media and not government.

The parties generally for the most part agree on the same foreign policy but have contrasting and separate visions for domestic policy so not much is done for the US itself.

It's like last time. They simply won't let him win. Well before the mail in voting changes, we were told the election results won't be clear on election night. It will look like Trump won, but he didn't. Also, if Biden looked like he won. Case closed he did. So we knew they were cooking that up well before COVID. They're already laying the groundwork and legal teams to claim Trump stole the election if he wins. How they'll claim that is currently unknown to me. They claimed it in 2019, but weakly. I do expect Russiagate 2.0 since they never acknowledge they spread that conspiracy theory. So they want to use it again. I've already been hearing long debunked Trump shit like calling troops suckers and losers popping up again. I assume we'll be hearing a lot more of that bullshit again.
The media and institutions all working against Trump is the biggest tool they have. Lawfare is already hindering his campaigning, generating negative coverage and we haven't got any court outcomes yet. It will all have an impact, but how much? I don't know. It's interesting to see there's no pretence anywhere the NY trial is anything other than a show trial. No matter where I have looked in the past week or so is anyone discussing the outcome as being entirely on the biases of the jury. So it's a situation where everyone knows it's bullshit. They'll claim justice or injustice with a biased Jury. Primed to go either way depending on their opinion on Trump. No honesty or integrity. I do find it fascinating how the propaganda primes people to go either way.
The thing I can't get past is how fucking awful Biden is. He can't even order a Milkshake in a staged manner with out looking like a demented Mr Magoo. So my gut is telling me they're going to swap him out. Then we're going to get the most insane propaganda dick/clit sucking campaign of whomever they anoint to be the next President. It'll happen fast. It'll be a whirlwind. All the NPC's will enthusiastically vote for them as if they're the third coming of the Lord and Saviour Obama.
Worst case scenario is Biden allows Bibi to drag the US into war in Iran. WWIII. There'll be outrage. Then the machine will ramp up. The media and big Tech will go into censorship over drive and pushing narratives that the same Biden Admin with a new hip and cool world peace leader will be better. Trump is a Russian, China and Iranian puppet. He's a traitor because he's against the world war. All hard and fast in the final months of the election to push the new Democrat over the line. I just don't know who that candidate could be. I suspect someone no one really knows, but they'll get the most glorious PR campaign in a short time and everyone supporting them will pretend they always knew they were the Messiah.
