If you haven't been paying attention, this stuff has been simmering since the 70s when the Weather Underground hid in the institutions of education. Maybe we can be more charitable and instead of calling it propaganda, it was just people being optimistic and believing that indeed the noble savage is always better than us, that yes, any girls can do what any boy can if she puts her all into it and that Jamal beating the fuck out of you doesn't mean that you can't have inoffensive Urkel or cool Will as a friend eventually. This seems insane to me. Propaganda is never this subtle, and seems to be an insanely long game to play, especially since many of said 90s properties are/were "based". eg. If Tomb Raider was created with the intention of pushing propaganda, why does it have to be censored so heavily in the modern day? Why didn't Nintendo jump on the bandwagon when people were trying to say Samus was trans, etc.
The destruction of our concept of noticing patterns has been eroded for a very long time and for the most part, it has been done very gradually. It's just the last 10 years when shit got really insane and they hit the pedal to the fucking metal. It all goes back to fucking Trump that broke everyone's brain or derailed something or what have you. Anyway, you were being boiled, the thing, it was being done properly, so you never noticed and stuff was nowhere as shitty so dissonance would hit. Race relations were indeed much better than now in that decade, gross trannies did not exist in the real world to destroy the whole "girls and boys are equal!" thing and we didn't have hordes of mongrel immigrants to make us notice that no, maybe those savages ain't so noble. That or we all just wanted to believe in all the nice ideas and didn't want to notice, very realistic scenario when you live in a bubble.
I always have to tell this tale. A buddy of mine actually thought GI Jane was real, since it was based on real events. He thought women could pass Navy Seal training at it's prime and I had to make him aware that no, a woman us pretty much unable to pass any of those standards and if she could, odds are it ain't a women (and I don't mean tranny in this context). Well, I thought the exact same thing as my buddy till I started "noticing" things.
