I'm not sure when he was ever on a "big team". I mean was he on the big team in one of those races where he failed to qualify?

What I think he is talking about here is that he wants to buy a ride in a more competitive and more expensive car. The way ARCA works is that the more money you pay, the better and the faster the car you get put into is.

If he wants to get into a car that is top-five competitive, he is looking at paying a minimum of $50k a race. But that seems like too much money for him and Ethan to spend. I suspect he wants to go from the bare minimum car he is in now (costs maybe $10k a race) to lets say the $20k a race car.

The other option is that he is just looking to put more money in his own pocket. He has a history of this. One time a while back he raised money to repair one of his cars. He raised twice as much as what people estimated the cost of the repairs being.

Either way, he wants to spend more of other people's money on his ARCA racing. If Ethan has any sense, the weekend's experience should have convinced him that he was conned in getting involved in this and that its time to step away.
