Fuck most modern "reinterpretations" of classic songs. At best they bring nothing to the table, at worst they make me lose my shit in a furious rage, like that sound of silence cover by Disturbed (I think).

I thought the Bangles did a pretty rocking Hazy Shade of Winter.Fuck most modern "reinterpretations" of classic songs. At best they bring nothing to the table, at worst they make me lose my shit in a furious rage, like that sound of silence cover by Disturbed (I think).
There are exceptions of course. On the same note of uninspiring rock slop, today I listened to Danko Jones for the first time. And Jesus Christ, this was the most generic, edgy, AI written, composed and or orchestrated "rock". I had to Google it right after turning off the radio in disgust and to my shock they are an actual and successful band. They are Canadian though, that might explain everything.I thought the Bangles did a pretty rocking Hazy Shade of Winter.
Larry LaLonde really should've stuck with PossessedPrimus is a tragic and sad example of incredible talent wasted on shitty retarded music.
It's unfortunate, but it's still better than Dimebag being aliveDimebag Darrell gets too much credit as a guitarist, just 'cos, surprise-surprise, he's dead. Is this an unpopular view? Fuck it, I'm counting it here.
Mau5 is a canuck, and anyone's guess would be as good as mine as to whether or not the whole song is a dick joke.I think mau5 is either Belgian or Dutch, I forget. American Dad did a piss funny pisstake of him, called DJ Hiney-Monkey. Roger was also dressed as Hunter S. Thompson in that one. Oh, and is Raise Your Weapon a enthusiasm for cawks? Y'know, like how Whistle, by Flo-Rida, is about girlfriends who give great gack-gack beej's (plural? Fuck it).
Agreed. Him and the rest of Pantera get way too much credit.Dimebag Darrell gets too much credit as a guitarist, just 'cos, surprise-surprise, he's dead. Is this an unpopular view? Fuck it, I'm counting it here.
Pantera were okay as a band. I like them better than the majority of hardcore metal/hard rock bands. However, I feel if these guys were both clean and got along together better they could had been so much more.Agreed. Him and the rest of Pantera get way too much credit.
Ah. Maybe I was thinking of Afrojack, for whatever reason.Mau5 is a canuck, and anyone's guess would be as good as mine as to whether or not the whole song is a dick joke.
I think I'm so used to treating vocals as textures in EDM that the excessive processing hasn't really bothered me, though in RYW's case I much prefer the Noisia remix where they're easier to ignore.
Anselmo only says Dimebag was the greatest guitarist of all time 'cos he's still heartbroken over him dying.Pantera were okay as a band. I love Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, and Peter Gabriel performing with Kate Bush. I'm not sure if that belongs here because I don't think it's an unpopular opinion. "Don't Give Up" is such epic feels.@Rick The Stick Cheers, Rick, for sharing my opinion. I think Peter Gabriel used to bang Bush for a time. I imagine Pete G. got tired of how much of a hippie Kate B. is. I mean, Gabriel's weird, but in creativity terms, or something, but Bush is probably all about what she is. Or when she was still a young woman, anyway.
