One of the nice things about hiring a competent practicing attorney to represent you on a speeding ticket in Minnesota is that you can waive your appearance so you don't even have to show up to court. Your lawyer takes care of it all on your behalf.

I suspect that Balldo Esquire told her "I'll go to court on the ticket and at least get it knocked down to a no-insurance-points violation. You won't need to be there. You may have to pay some fees and maybe take online driving school."

I remember the last time I had a wreck (still haven't had a speeding ticket lol), I was at court as soon as the 5 day wait period was up. Now it didn't go to trial, i just ate the fine and points, but you bet I thought about it the entire week and I marked it on my calendar.
