In his case, it was an English Lit program at UCLA. People come out of those programs with the idea that their opinions matter and a strong set of far-left political ideas. Beyond that, Sessler was a "theater kid" which is among the lowest forms of human life.

After school, Sessler followed his deeper instincts and went to work for a bank. But his other instincts made him go do volunteer acting for public television. He then migrated into no-budget cable TV with a whole bunch of other theater kids.

Because he was on TV, somehow his opinions began to matter and he somehow convinced himself that the garbage he was doing was "journalism". Being a "journalist" convinced him of his own importance and how he was just as important as people who worked at the New York Times.

It has happened a couple times. But every time someone treats him well or does him a favor, he turns on them like a rabid dog and starts burning down whatever platform he is given. He always sets up a situation where he intentionally fails, blames it on "the man" and then retreats into the darkness waiting for the cycle to begin again.

I’m enjoying watching liberal Jews getting what they voted for. They don’t understand cause and effect. For being so educated they lack common sense and self preservation. Those mosques going up in Europe are paid in large part by the oil states and it’s to pave the way for their vision of the west. They don’t need to beat Israel directly in a war. They just need for the West to have a larger Muslim than Jewish population. They just need enough to sway elections the way they want.

Besides I doubt Sessler would be any kinder than they are if he ever got his grubby blow-stained hands on any actual power, considering what he's said so often and with such contemptuous ease about anyone to the right of Bill Ayers.

People like Sessler come out of a very specific mental framework - one that actually supercedes the usual sources for political awakening.

While many will cite his schooling, that alone does not create someone like Adam Sessler, nor does it reinforce the surreal and often bizarre way his mental state seemingly works. To get a better grasp of that you need to look at his behavior, which, thankfully, he has provided on countless occasions. Sessler carries with him the perpetual belief that he is above others, solely by virtue of being one of "the right people." Other cows with this trait include Margaret Pless, Taylor Lorenz, and Jim Sterling.

At the core of what they do is a pathological need to feel morally superior to other people. They believe tthat because they believe the right things, and they are the entrenched power (in their eyes), and so they have earned that right, even though by all accounts they've accomplished nothing of value or note. They will flat-out argue that they are morally justified in acting like a dick towards someone while at the same time bemoaning anyone who calls them out on their shit. The reason people like Sessler back this ideology isn't because they give a shit about any of the causes involved; it's because it's a license for him to be a dick to people with the full permission of his conscience.
