What an odd thing to complain about.
Not at all. The soundtrack in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is not only one of the game's strongest assets, but it is one of the better soundtracks to come out of that decade. To modify it or otherwise tinker around with it is sacrosanct. There is simply nothing that needs to change with that aspect of the game. And when you listen to the new music in the trailer, it is clearly inferior. The highs and lows are all dulled down and the end result lacks any of the punch that the source material had. Maybe the words I want are "over produced"?

Sure, it's fine. It'll sound good to most anyone and I don't think it is bad. But when you scored a perfect ten the first time around, why would you change that? That's a foolish endeavor and a highly-questionable design choice that starts making me wonder what else they've gone and changed unnecessarily.

Unforced errors are tragic. And again, I'm glad there's a workaround for it and that it seems to be easy enough to obtain. But how many people won't go that route and will play a masterpiece with one of its best aspects neutered? That's sad.

I had read somewhere and maybe it was here that several of the changes within the remake were to bring The Thousand Year Door more into line with the newer Paper Mario games. Can anyone source this for me? Because that sounds incredibly dubious; but if true, that would be a terrible design paradigm with which to remake such a classic. Especially when every time a new Paper Mario game came out, the entire fan base more or less screamed at Nintendo: "This is fine, but when are you going to make one like Thousand Year Door? That's what we want more of!"

Sorry for the double-post, but I just realized why the Shadow Sirens were renamed to the Three Shadows.
“Siren” is a female-only term.
Think it hints more at seductress. They made some benign changes to mario rpg that if you really squinted you could claim somehow were inappropriate. Nintendo is pretty gun shy on it.

Can't wait to see what else they've changed...

I wonder how Peach will describe the concept of love to TEC, given the new generation's love for degeneracy and propensity for brutalization.

You're obviously aware of it, but for those who haven't seen this yet:
There's a badge that costs 1 coin and doesn't take up BP that changes the OST back to the Gamecube version if you're not a fan of the music.

Shadow Sirens is alliteration, represents Beldum's vanity, and is funny for that same reason. The Shadow Sirens are mostly fat, old, and ugly and the name is funny for that.

Thank God they fixed it for the sake of accuracy, though. Wouldn't want anyone having too much fun in a Mario game when they could be enjoying it The Correct Way™️.

Imagine needing to re-write a children's video game (rated E for Everyone) from 20 years ago to fit modern sensibilities. lol, lmao even.

Out of curiosity I took a look at the ESRB's ratings for both the original Thousand-Year Door for Gamecube (a) and the upcoming re-make for Switch. (a) The original got away with only "Cartoon Violence" while this remake now has "Mild Fantasy Violence" as well as "Mild Suggestive Themes". It's seriously pathetic that this is where we're at; where parents have to be informed that characters with "exaggerated proportions" are going to make suggestive comments about "giving Mario some sugar". Twenty years ago feels like an alien time, where kids and adults alike weren't nearly as a pussified as they are now.

They changed the tutorial fight so the Goomba trio no longer flirts with Goombella, and instead attacks the gang because they don’t like surface-dwellers. I want to say “death to localizers” but apparently this change more accurately reflects the original Japanese script. Can someone confirm this? Either way, I still hate it.

EDIT: It’s not more faithful. In fact, the original Japanese was even more flirty. Death to localizers.

Calm down, they probably won’t go that far. The Playboy bunny Boo uses the original US design, so Vivian will probably also use her US characterization.
Still, how long will it be before someone makes a script restoration mod? And how much longer before GameBanana/Nexus Mods spergs out and removes it?
You can thank this guy, Niko Farryn Lennox, for claiming that Vivian is "trans".

Why are these people allowed to work in the industry but anyone who says a single no no word is instantly blacklisted from everything?

Also interesting move, this is sure to not be shortsighted in possibly one of the most volatile political climates ever especially with a game beloved by millions and seen as a form of escapism from said climate having gender nonsense in it too
Can't wait for the mods to fix this mess

Of course it’s always fucking furfags.

Why am I not surprised anymore? Who the fuck is letting these degenerates into the gaming industry? Furfags literally ruin everything they touch with their degenerate minds. I’ll just stick with the OG version, fuck this remake and fuck Nintendo.

edit: Hope the whole thing about it being a lie is true, once again not surprisingly a furfag seeking attention like always lol.
