Is murdering your dog le hecking basseroni, or le hecking cringerino?

People think it's a "reddit" mentality to love dogs or other pets, but it's been dated back even as far as the ancient Greeks and Romans that dogs were valued as beloved pets. We've found graves that they had built for their pets honoring them for loyalty and companionship.
I rarely get a chance to post this, but I love this poem:
Near this Spot
are deposited the Remains of one
who possessed Beauty without Vanity,
Strength without Insolence,
Courage without Ferosity,
and all the virtues of Man without his Vices.
This praise, which would be unmeaning Flattery
if inscribed over human Ashes,
is but a just tribute to the Memory of
Boatswain, a Dog
who was born in Newfoundland May 1803
and died at Newstead November 18th 1808.
When some proud Son of Man returns to Earth,
Unknown to Glory but upheld by Birth,
The sculptor's art exhausts the pomp of woe,
And storied urns record who rests below.
When all is done, upon the Tomb is seen
Not what he was, but what he should have been.
But the poor Dog, in life the firmest friend,
The first to welcome, foremost to defend,
Whose honest heart is still his Masters own,
Who labours, fights, lives, breathes for him alone,
Unhonour'd falls, unnotic'd all his worth,
Deny'd in heaven the Soul he held on earth.
While man, vain insect! hopes to be forgiven,
And claims himself a sole exclusive heaven.

Oh man! thou feeble tenant of an hour,
Debas'd by slavery, or corrupt by power,
Who knows thee well, must quit thee with disgust,
Degraded mass of animated dust!
Thy love is lust, thy friendship all a cheat,
Thy tongue hypocrisy, thy heart deceit,
By nature vile, ennobled but by name,
Each kindred brute might bid thee blush for shame.
Ye! who behold perchance this simple urn,
Pass on, it honours none you wish to mourn.
To mark a friend's remains these stones arise;
I never knew but one — and here he lies.

They key point that's overlooked, and not emphasized enough in her telling (possibly cause it wasn't true and she just said that to try and justify a bad story that she for some reason wanted to tell) is the fact that it tried to bite her after going ballistic on the neighbor's chickens. If she's telling the truth there, it's still a stupid story to tell, but there are dogs that can't control aggression and are a liability and I do think putting them down it's better than keeping them in a pen or on a chain their whole life.

She doesn't act like this was a chronic hazard though, and that she was looking for moral absolution for a dog she was mad at.
I'm hearing all this second and third hand, but those of you that heard it first hand are you sure that the media didn't twist her words around to make it look evil instead of her putting down a dangerous animal regretfully?

I can't wait for this to massively backfire. This is just going to piss off more people of ALL the sides, not just one.

If they truely think this is going to make their golems calm down, they really are out of touch with reality.
They really don't have much choice tbh.

How OWS, the Tea Party, and most of the alt-right were dealt with does not work on anti-Zionists.
You can't subvert the thought-leaders and protest organizers because you have nothing to offer them. You have nothing to offer because once someone is branded as a heretic anti-Semite they are not allowed to hold positions of power/influence/wealth, positions that are used as bribes to prevent any counter-elite from forming.
You can't moralize them away because genocide is the ultimate 'You're wrong' card that can be played. You can't censor them without waking up more people to the judeo-bullshittery. You can't go gloves off with them without also enraging their parents and doubling/tripling the number of the anti-Zionist supporters. You can't even go after their livelihoods without ensuring that a parallel economy will develop.

The only two plays left are legal fuckery, which won't work long-term, and black PR, which won't work when all of your assets were based in and trained to dismantle the Right and not the Left.

The story is being sourced from a book by Noem called “No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward" which I think isn't even out yet.

Here is an article on it mentioning the other details besides the dog being shot.

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) in a forthcoming book describes shooting a family dog after a hunting trip, according to a report in The Guardian, which obtained a copy of the book, “No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward.”

In the book, Noem, who has been discussed as a possible running mate for former President Trump, describes growing angry with the nearly 14-month-old “Cricket,” a wirehaired pointer, during a hunting trip.

Noem shot the dog after taking it on a pheasant hunt.

She writes that she had taken Cricket on the hunt hoping she would learn from older dogs, but that instead the younger dog ruined the hunt by “chasing all those birds and having the time of her life,” per the Guardian.

On the way home, the dog escaped her truck and attacked a local family’s chickens, “grabb[ing] one chicken at a time, crunching it to death with one bite, then dropping it to attack another,” Noem wrote.

When Noem tried to grab the dog, she wrote that it whipped around to bite her. Noem said she wrote the family a check for their chickens and helped them dispose of the carcasses “littering the scene of the crime.”

“I hated that dog,” she wrote, adding that Cricket was untrainable, dangerous and worthless as a hunting dog.

“At that moment,” Noem wrote, “I realized I had to put her down.”

She then led Cricket to a gravel pit on her property and shot it, writing it was “not a pleasant job” but it “had to be done.”

Noem wrote that she also then killed a “nasty and mean” male goat that smelled and liked to chase her children. Because it jumped when she first shot at the goat, she needed two shots to “put him down.”

The Guardian wrote that the story was told as an anecdote to show that Noem believes sometimes difficult tasks must be carried out, and that she is not afraid to do so. Noem uses the story to illustrate that she is willing to do anything “difficult, messy and ugly” if it simply needs to be done, according to The Guardian.

Noem also wrote that she realized that a construction crew watched her kill both animals, but the workers got back to work before a school bus dropped off her kids.

When her daughter arrived, Noem writes in the book that she looked around, confused, asking where Cricket was.

“I guess if I were a better politician I wouldn’t tell the story here,” Noem wrote.

When The Hill contacted Noem’s office to ask about the report, it pointed to a tweet from her personal account.

In the tweet, Noem appeared to confirm the story and said there would be more politically incorrect stories in her book.

“We love animals, but tough decisions like this happen all the time on a farm. Sadly, we just had to put down 3 horses a few weeks ago that had been in our family for 25 years. If you want more real, honest, and politically INcorrect stories that’ll have the media gasping, preorder ‘No Going Back,’ she wrote.

Ok, that's a lot more relevant context. This is an outdoor dog that has turned violent. Trying to make it a hunting dog did not work, but now it's a threat to other animals and children too. She can't keep it indoors or on a chain so it doesn't harm other people, and the dog is still likely to harm her children. Putting the dog down was the right choice, but she is probably mad at the dog because she and her kids loved it and it hurt to have to kill it.

Also fuck goats.

“I hated that dog,”
yeah, a bit more context helps a little, but that was a stupid idea to put in your book
if you need paragraphs to explain why you're not a monster, don't bring the idea up, especially if you're running for office
that quote is as deadly to her as the she was to that dog

I think the era where media can twist politician's words is starting to come to an end. She could choose to be afraid of having a single word taken out of context and ruining her career, or she can defend and explain her words to the constituents who are willing to listen. Everyone else is getting sick of media basically making things up and are slowly tuning out.

It says a whole lot about how fucking stupid american politics are when her sounding like a psycho in a book when talking about shotgun-euthanizing her dog is more of a threat to her political career by orders of magnitude than her actual history on policy decisions.

I would like to hear from some actual farmers and not some obtuse baffoon who keeps autistically screeching the same irrelevant point over and over.
I grew up with many hunting dogs and yeah, if they don’t earn their keep they either get given away or taken out behind the woodshed. Thing is it’s fucking dumb for her to discuss and as I’ve said already, she wanted to share this story because she thinks it makes her look tough. Thing is I don’t really know too many hunters that share stories about the time they dispatched their hunting dogs. In fact, they never talked about it at all because it’s something they do and move on quickly. My dad would shoot them, bury them, and we never talked about the dog again.
Somehow Ben looks even gayer with his beard.
If Noemi would take her dog killing ways to the border and corrupt politians she'd be a great president.
There are shitloads of latinks in South Dakota. Of course her solution is to do absolutely jack shit because ranchers and other agricultural and meat processing industry would raise hell. Such a badass.
It's not a joke any more. It's a question that any right leaning voter needs to seriously start considering and asking their representatives openly and loudly.
It is absolutely a legitimate question to ask a conservative what they’re actually conserving. Conservatism has fully embraced the William Buckley theory that conservatism should be liberalism going the speed limit. Anyone who wants to stop liberalism gets promptly jettisoned like Steve King, Kris Kobach, etc.
I can't wait for this to massively backfire. This is just going to piss off more people of ALL the sides, not just one.

This isn’t for the goyim but wealthy Jews who are angry and looking to or is in the process of pulling money out of endowments, campaigns, etc. Both parties need wealthy Jews to donate to their campaigns and now they’re demanding more concessions from politicians. No politician gives a shit about free speech because there’s no large donors that advocate for it nor is it a really popular topic for the voters who are going to determine who wins elections, which in many locations are going to be suburban white women. I don’t know a demographic that cares for free speech less than suburban white women.
It sure as shit sounds like the heel saying "Hey guys, I'm the bad guy here. You're supposed to hate me, REMEMBER?"
Republican congresscucks have always enjoyed playing the heel and that’s what they bring to the table for the uniparty. That way Democrats can get to play the good guys and The Right Side of History.

The article makes the dog sound extremely fucked up.

Yeah, fuck that dog. That's shitbull-tier behavior.

She's even got the mugshot lean. If this bitch was a dude, she'd be a sex offender.

I mean the resemblance is uncanny

Have you actually read her telling, or only the jumbled up sentence fragments in media reports trying to make her look like a psychopathic puppy killer?

Says even more when even the Extremely Online Right reflexively believes the mainstream media's framing of the story, goes into hysterical fits over poor little uwu puppies, and is completely unaware that putting down bad dogs is a thing that happens all the time, and not just on farms. It's like everyone in America is a suburban woman in 2024.

I'm just aghast that nobody in the process of writing a book. Not her on re-reads, not her editor, not anybody else caught it and noted that the framing of it is awful. She legitimately comes off as psycopathic in it, shooting the animal in front of a construction crew and then immediately going "Yup gotta kill another"".

Yah, the dog needed dying but holy fuck are there better ways to frame that. Or at least less terrible ways,

You're assuming the people editing her book had her best interests in mind.
