Late but I really loved the Onion segment, I really like their videos pre 2010. In 2010 they started doing the more cringe shit, videos about group sex and republicans liking gay sex n shit but old Onion was very good. Their most recent articles I remember reading was "Goofy murdered Ron Desantis with a golf club" and "White House discovers new number system to keep Gaza Death Toll zero" both of which are extremely cringe. Shame that I have to side with the Christcucks at Babylon Bee for comedy.

yeah. I don't think I have seen anything the onion put out in about a decade at least. Good to know I didn't miss anything good at least. Around the time the onion movie came out, probably a bit after was around when I stopped watching their stuff, if I had to try to guestimate. Really sad. Idk if there has been a really good political satire source I have seen since then.

The revival of the Beavis and Butthead series was the best political satire I've seen in the past ~5 years; Mike Judge's only real fuckup I can remember at the moment was The Goode Family [it came off like a hamstrung compromise destined to serve no one], which was just painful to watch.

I should watch that, I want to get into Beavis and Butthead and South park, they seem so gargantuan like one piece and Im too absorbed into work to consistently keep up with them so I end up laying off. I watched Idiocracy and it was funny but Ive not watched anything from Judge otherwise.

Much as I hate to defend anime here, there is something to be said for giving someone something more approachable that conveys the same ideas. If someone watching Psycho Pass introduces them to these concepts and leads them to reading other works exploring similar concepts it's a win.

It always amazes me how people go out of their way to talk like a retard. It was one thing when we were all on keyboards, but every smartphone comes with autocorrect installed by default. It's actually really really hard to intentionally not capitalize the first letter in a sentence with autocorrect enabled. It's incredible, they can literally have the tools coded in to act like white people, and they'll still throw them back in your face and go back to ooking and eeking and flinging their shit wildly.

I believe that the more accessible and easy technology has became, people got more technologically inept and generally dumber. It's a weird paradox, you'd expect smartphones with all their dumbing down of everything to make it easier for people to do things on them, but I've witnessed first hand people having issues with the most basic tasks on a smartphone.

Things really were better when we had bulky desktop PC's where the hard drive, floppy drive, optical drive, case fans, CPU fans and PC speaker all sang a melody the moment you've pressed that magical power button, where the broken heap of shit that was Windows XP challenged you to fight it just to keep it running, and when the phones we had in our pockets could at most run J2ME games like Asphalt 4, every SMS was 140 characters long, and you had to make them count, and browsing the web through Opera Mobile was more of a curiosity before you closed it in fears of getting billed out of the ass for opening the front page of Google.

On that topic, a note to people who aren't able to watch live, if you are watching at 1.5x speed, and Josh starts to do an accented segment, make sure to revert to 1.0x. Otherwise you WILL miss out on a lot of the richness and subtlety of the accents, and you will not be able to fully appreciate them.

Br*tish comedian Jon Richardson is one of the few other public speakers with the breadth of dead-on accents that Josh has. Outside of some niche linguist/dialect channels, you're just not going to get that sort of authenticity anywhere else.

Here's the recent big DSP update:

DarksydePhil for years has had a mysterious donator called OneMinuteMan who has been arguably Phil's most dedicated paypig, shilling out typically $50 or so every stream. Even in the longest tip droughts Phil has experienced, during Phil's most boring streams, this donor has always been there tossing money at Phil as if it's their personal obligation. Theories have ranged from "Phil is tipping himself" to "Phil's parents are tipping him" to "OneMinuteMan is a Dread Pirate Roberts identity shared across whales."

However, this mystery may have finally been solved, and it's led to a falling out between Phil and the donator. It all starts five years ago when a donator named PlanetJeff was falsely doxed as a Mormon man from Utah. While this illegitimate dox was spread by detractors, the real PlanetJeff appears to have simply changed his alias to OneMinuteMan. Fast forward to today, and the real PlanetJeff was finally doxed, and he was found to have a major political lean to his social media postings.

All the while, Phil has been hinting on-stream that people have been pushing him to talk about political issues. This leads us to his above recent rant during a no tips stream. He talks about how he refuses to get into political conversation even though "SOMEONE" has been pushing very hard for it, and talks about how sometimes faces from his community come and go, and he will never let them control him. This all coinciding with both the PlanetJeff dox and the once constant tips from OneMinuteMan disappearing completely.

TL;DR: DSP's mystery paypig got doxed after a faildox had circulated for half a decade, and then DSP refused to talk politics on stream so the paypig peaced out.
