Weight loss support thread

I am currently 5 11 and 200 pounds I keep flucating between 190 and 200 I lose weight and then I gain it right back does anyone have any advice on how to permantly keep weight off
Change your lifestyle. If your weight is going back to 200 the combination of food you're eating + exercise you're doing reaches equilibrium around 200 pounds. Add some regular walking or a visit to the gym once a week to change the equitation, or count calories to see where your adding some you can get rid of.

Thanks for the advice man I think the problem is that I started to eat too much carbs and stoped walking as much ever since I moved

Returning to a Carnivore diet, as I had a lot of success with it in the past as opposed to just diet and exercise. I do believe I am pre-diabetic. My goal weight is 160lbs (currently about 265lbs)
I had to stop keto because I got mauled by a dog and now on steroids. It interferes with keto apparently, especially if you are pre-diabetic. I did lose like 7lbs since this post though.

I'm probably sounding like a broken record in here, but track your calories/exercise and see if you're overeating (some foods really do have 'hidden' calories) and not moving enough for the calories you're consuming. I wish you the best, man.

I feel like - and that's not scientifically proven, just my observation - that some bodies have a weird "feel-good weight" that feels impossible to overcome. Like my body just says "ah, we've hit 180lb again - time to just stay on that weight until forever & sometimes even bounce back to it without any reason at all". It's frustrating as fuck, and one of the main reason why I've given up my last diet. I'm hellbound on sticking to it this time around and overcome that hurdle though.

The first thing I would ask is how are you losing the 10lbs? Does it all come off quickly following a couple of week of severe dieting. Maybe do what I was doing for a while which was just a steady small reduction. Think I was losing about 1.5kg a month which isn't much perhaps, but it's more or less stayed off. There are bumps up again but the steady trend is downwards and that's okay. Like on the last page I had a bit of an overeating that put some back on but I'm still down from where I started and it's almost gone now. I just have to keep on like that and by end of June, if I can, I'll have reached my next target weight.

the more I think about it is that it comes back relatively slowly over the course of 3 weeks to a month

The weird thing about my weight is that I am also pretty strong I can easily do 30 pushups withoug sweating

Hmmm. So a quick loss followed by gradual regain. I'd say you're doing a bit of a sharp diet and then losing focus and backsliding. The cure for that, I'm afraid, is to simply make a more committed and planned change to your diet or lifestyle so that it's clear to you when you've broken it. And then make sure you don't. I'd suggest identifying a small habit or diet change that you can solidly stick to not as a thing to do irregularly or as needed but permanently. A genuine long-term change of habit. Maybe it's eating a leafy salad before lunch every day so you feel fuller. Maybe it's intermittent fasting or simply never eating past 9pm. I don't know what will work for you but it's plain that you're launching into a commitment then slowly losing it. Either identify something you can do along side it as a long-term improvement or don't try to crash diet so much if that's what you're doing.

I just got put in the death fats thread by helvetia for saying im 200 pounds lmao
LOL! Well, should help you stay motivated! You can be taken out when you've lost more weight? :D :D :D Which I'm sure you will. What even is 200lb? 90kg! Is that really Death Fat territory?

thanks man for the advice what you are saying is 100% true. Whenever I diet for some stupid reason I decide to reward myself by eating junk. In the last week or so I actually did start to eat salads in every morning which I hadnt before. Is salmon a better meat to eat then beef.

I know right the person who put me in the death fat thread keeps stalking my profile and has beef with me

I have flat feet so running is hard so I havent really tried to run a lot but I do try walking to loose weight.

Think of the weight you lose as a currency. What do you want to spend it on? Junk food because you've "saved up enough dieting"? Or going around being slimmer and living longer? You can have a reward for having dieted but you have to choose what that reward will be - it can't be both. No idea about salmon vs. beef. It's about keeping your calories down, really so either could work. Ask a bear.

Sit on them.

That's unfortunate but maybe someone else can advise on that. Going for a hike on weekends or even an evening can be nice and very good for your health. 3-4 miles of hills is enough to do you a lot of good. If you go the gym there are rowing machines and bikes. But if that doesn't come naturally to your routine, get a kettle bell and do 5 mins with that each morning. You'll like it and it's a one time purchase.

Thank you for all the info man. I set a goal of 197 pounds by end of the week I will come back then to see if I achieve my goal.

That's laudable and good luck. But longer term you might want to think about setting goals around averages or staying under for a period of time. Weight can fluctuate a lot from day to day with fluid levels or frankly how much food is slowly working its way through your digestive system (can take more than 24hrs!) I have an app which I record my morning weight into and it shows me averages over the past 7 days and past 4 weeks and past year. It's rewarding to see my morning weight is down but my goals are "I'm going to get my seven day average under __kg". Or things of that nature.

Worth considering for the future. It takes planning to lose weight. If it were easy we wouldn't need this thread.

I ate a whole pizza because it fit my macros but boy do I feel like shit afterward, posting here to remind myself to not do that again.

2,4-dinitrophenol?
Don't. If you think poking holes in your mitochondria to sabotage their function and risk simultaneously starving and cooking to death sounds like a good idea, you have bigger problems than being fat.

If it was temporary and confirmed safe, it'd be a tough bit of calculus for sure.

Speaking of which, what's this rumor I'm hearing about Wegovy fucking you up hardcore long term if you use it? Something about screwing up your Serotonin, Stomach / Liver, etc etc?

DNP is for body dysmorphia roiders (they're already killing themselves anyway).

Semaglutide has pretty heavy GI side effects for some users. But their lard golem dietary habits must also play a role there.
I feel like the target group of people >1.5-2x times larger than normal have more certain health risks from their weight alone, than what might come from semaglutide.
Skinnyfats should stick with taking meth (recreationally).
