They're also trying to defraud their investors and advertising partners by misrepresenting steam users as Playstation users.

You are spot on with what you say, Sony are doing this to fudge PSN numbers. I hope this backfires big time for two reasons; 1) Steam players make up a big chunk of the player base of Helldivers 2 and Sony deserve to be kicked out of the PC space that they're desperate to get into and 2) the Sony fans are cheering this on and handwaving it away with their usual persecution complex "but no-one else complained when MS/Acti did it, wahh", even though many people complain about dual log-ins with games.

The people I know who bought a PS5 bought it on the blind assumption that it would have good exclusives at some point and because they always bought the new playstations, they have no idea what's happening in the industry. I've done that. The Onn 4k streaming box can actually be had for $20 unless inflation has changed the price recently. The thing even supports HDMI CEC so you can only use one remote for everything.

It is a new Sony console, and honestly, Sony sucks at hardware, so many probably bought them as they needed a new system. By the time the PS4 hit, my PS3 was totaled and wouldn’t even turn on. My PS4 was absolutely disgusting by the time the PS5 came. Granted, these were family systems, but even then, my Wii and U were pretty pristine in comparison and never had the amount of faults as Sony systems.

My family owns a PS5 for this reason. The only use it gets is dad’s Rocket League sessions and the siblings playing Fortnite.

Same, for me the PS5 is a ps4 Upgrade machine.
