Sony hate thread

If people want to see true change happening in the gaming industry, they should start putting their money where their mouth is. They should stop watching youtube grifter videos that are designed to outrage them without providing any meaningful solution to the problem and only just exist to get clicks and money from their outrage. Leaving a bad review or going to twitter to voice your outrage won't solve your situation because Sony sees your complaints and they only see it as noise that will pass because it doesn't affect their bottom line.

If you want meaningful change to happen, here are the things you do:
1) Start requesting refunds of Helldivers 2 using @mindlessobserver's breach of contract template.
2) Save all of your correspondence for a class action lawsuit.
3) Pirate all Sony games from now on or buy them used so they don't get ANY of your money.
4) Read @mindlessobserver's thread on the PSN terms of service and share it with other Kiwis. (Link)

Stop waiting for the gaming industry to change it's bad practices to appease you. Stop watching youtube grifters that only care about making money off of you. Start requesting for refunds and organize for a class action lawsuit. BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THIS WORLD.
Ok look, I agree. Especially because there's ample evidence for a breach of contract, even in the Discord posts of the community manager, that could lead one to reasonably believe they even CAN refund the game (at least through Steam, dunno if company has offered any other option). And, of course, the fact that not every country has PSN coverage, and no remedy has been offered via official channels that aren't just the tranny janny on Discord.

However

Lawsuits cost a whole fuckton of money. Who's going to be funding this shit? Don't get me wrong, I wish people would because something's got to be made an example of so Sony doesn't do this shit ever again, but I doubt the ability of the average guy to pitch in and organise. Leaving a negative review saying "lol sneed4democracy" is easy as fuck, and Sony is indeed counting on that happening, a remnant of the playerbase staying, and setting precedent that way.

This effectively bans everyone in Africa and the Middle East as well as a bunch of South Asian countries since PSN isn't avaliable there.

Helldivers is even more based than I thought, banning all the darkies.

Total nigger, sandnigger, and ricenigger death for sacred Democracy.
BLACK LIVES MASTER
Stop Asian Hate
Diversity is our strength.

For YOU, not them.

Why make an account to play a game you bought that didn't require it before? Sony said they're doing it for "security," which means they want to oversee that community to revoke access at any time. Fuck that shit.
Others may have mentioned this, they are likely trying to prop up their playstation metrics.

Uncharted Drake's Fortune
It will always chap my ass HARD that shitty franchise became popular over the games that are the reason this crappy franchise exists:

Tomb_Raider_(1996).png

Seriously whats the appeal of uncharted? The shit tier and boring gameplay that makes a game from 96 feel more fun to play or the writing that "makes the characters feel alive" as if we we didn't have character's like that in gaming before sony's first movie game.

....Why yes i am pissed off that ubisoft damnned the remake by giving it to a bunch of smelly jeets who were too busy asking for bobs and vagene on instagram than work on the game series that made them popular.

I'm basically a doomsday cultist now, anticipating and praying for a new gaming crash that'll be far bigger than the one in 1983.
The older generation of gaymers are more scrupulous with what they spend money on, while the younger and foreign market has no idea how good we had it and will drop $50 a week on lootboxes to dress Bakachan in a skimpy outfit so when they bounce on demons her butt jiggles. It's fucking over for anyone wanting to pay a fixed amount of a product.

They're going to train these cattle to jump up and say "mcdonalds" to give Miss Konichiwa more cleavage.

Meanwhile, us Ninten-chads are gorging, feasting, floating in a deep pool of offline single player experiences on Switch, all for a fixed amount. Phonetard brainlets are allowed in, reluctantly, to boost the ecosystem.

I'm unironically playing Neverwinter Nights 1 atm. Old Bioware was so good, people have no idea. And with a few mods loaded in all my characters look like the proper gender with greater graphic fidelity then shit put out in 2024, using 100x fewer pixels. The men are all chiseled Adonis' with 6 packs and the women are all curvy succubus's that look like they can suck water through 6 feet of garden hose. And yes, jiggle physics are enabled.

There is such a huge library of old games out there, and all the great ones have had almost 20 years of modding support to customize and improve the experience. There really is no reason to play anything being put out in the current year. Especially since it all fucking sucks.

Do not even dignify terms of service and "it's so trivial" cucks with a response.

You can't appeal to triviality when you initiated the trivial bullshit, and a terms of service should not be allowed to override common fucking sense.

You should not have your access to a game you bought threatened for ANY reason after you have forked over your money.

I feel extremely grateful I was around when micro-transactions were way more clunky and didn't have 30 types of currency, battle passes, and slick casino-like tricks to obscure how much you're actually spending. Back in 2012 you actually had to look at the fact that you're spending $10 on a set of armor for your digital horse or whatever. Now it's in every single game and there are marketing experts that get paid six figures to mislead you. It was over for the current crop of gamers before it even began.

Elaborate on how Switch games are not games, especially considering your own example of a “game” was Zelda.
I'm not sure how you can't comprehend that a list comparing only Nintendo Switch releases to Nintendo Switch releases isn't indicative of the overall gaming market. Hence why I posted the top games (on all platforms) which features a very small amount of exclusives. Spiderman and Zelda being two of the very few exclusive games that made it in to the top 10.
No, it's also Smash Bros, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, and Mario. For as scummy as a company as Nintendo is, they do at least have an audience, and a few exclusive franchises that they can always comfortably rely on to make them a lot of money.
Sure, although honestly I wasn't arguing that they weren't making sales numbers and money. Rather I was arguing the point above although I probably worded it poorly.
I dodged a bullet on this one cause I didn't want chink guard on my system.
People gonna need to start paying attention to what they purchase and load up.
EULAs and Games are now basically trying to rape the fuck out of you with buried ToS nasty shit. Can't just click I accept or BUY gotta look at the side info.
Everything comes with this shit btw, not just games and software. Almost all of it is deep in too, just in hopes that you miss it. It's interesting how many people just go along with it, "better to just let it happen."

Another thing, apparently this is last year's Sony Patent:
That one is actually rather old, it was a patent for the ps4. Most people don't know this, but ps4 was originally planned to be just as bad, if not worse, than the xbone. Microsoft and Sony were both playing a game of chicken to see who would reveal how bad they were gonna jew people first, and when Microsoft blinked and Sony saw the backlash, there were some HASTY reverse course decisions made.

MOD EDIT:
For context, Sony is frequently subjected to data breaches, including full doxes with account names, passwords, and addresses, and the PSN service they are enforcing is not available in every country which has PC Helldivers II players. The PSN user agreement includes draconian practices such as the ability to ban users for entering false personal information.

In case you thought you hated Sony enough, a new update came out about Helldivers 2 on Steam. They are now requiring you to link a Playstation Network account to play Helldivers 2 on Steam. For extra hilarity, it was just announced yesterday that Helldivers 2 is the 7th highest grossing Sony published game in history but if they don't count the PC sales, it wouldn't even rank in the top 20.

>”there are no wildly successful recent console exclusives”
>here’s a list of 20+ recent console exclusives that broke 10 million units each
>”t-those don’t count”

I said games, not Switch games. If we look at this list for 2023 and 2024 we see that almost every single game on here has a PC release available. Helldivers case-in-point literally being carried in its sales by PC gamers. It's OVER console bros.
This list is biased against Nintendo (and other makers of long-tail games) because it resets sales counts every year and doesn't count Nintendo or Take Two digital sales.

Besides the retro library being huge that can last years, the double AA and indie market are holding the gaming industry in their backs. The amount of great games that have come out from the indie space is staggering.

If you bitch and complain about how gaming is dead and you only play AAA slop then NO WONDER you hate gaming and think it's dying. You play the same exact type of games each year idiot. (not talking about you @mindlessobserver I'm talking about in general).
