Ok look, I agree. Especially because there's ample evidence for a breach of contract, even in the Discord posts of the community manager, that could lead one to reasonably believe they even CAN refund the game (at least through Steam, dunno if company has offered any other option). And, of course, the fact that not every country has PSN coverage, and no remedy has been offered via official channels that aren't just the tranny janny on Discord. If people want to see true change happening in the gaming industry, they should start putting their money where their mouth is. They should stop watching youtube grifter videos that are designed to outrage them without providing any meaningful solution to the problem and only just exist to get clicks and money from their outrage. Leaving a bad review or going to twitter to voice your outrage won't solve your situation because Sony sees your complaints and they only see it as noise that will pass because it doesn't affect their bottom line.
If you want meaningful change to happen, here are the things you do:
1) Start requesting refunds of Helldivers 2 using @mindlessobserver's breach of contract template.
2) Save all of your correspondence for a class action lawsuit.
3) Pirate all Sony games from now on or buy them used so they don't get ANY of your money.
4) Read @mindlessobserver's thread on the PSN terms of service and share it with other Kiwis. (Link)
Stop waiting for the gaming industry to change it's bad practices to appease you. Stop watching youtube grifters that only care about making money off of you. Start requesting for refunds and organize for a class action lawsuit. BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THIS WORLD.
However
Lawsuits cost a whole fuckton of money. Who's going to be funding this shit? Don't get me wrong, I wish people would because something's got to be made an example of so Sony doesn't do this shit ever again, but I doubt the ability of the average guy to pitch in and organise. Leaving a negative review saying "lol sneed4democracy" is easy as fuck, and Sony is indeed counting on that happening, a remnant of the playerbase staying, and setting precedent that way.
