So ~1/3 of the total review count on steam has been posted in the last 48 hours, >2x the number of negative reviews so far today as yesterday, and the meme posts on Youtube have only really gotten rolling in the last 12 hours or so.

Over all they are at 42% negative reviews total.

Damn it, we're just one percent less to finally claim total playerbase dilation.

No, it's also Smash Bros, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, and Mario. For as scummy as a company as Nintendo is, they do at least have an audience, and a few exclusive franchises that they can always comfortably rely on to make them a lot of money.

It's really funny that the Switch has reinvigorated and even ignited interest in franchises that never got the love it deserved. Pikmin was always in Nintendo's eyes a sunken cost but Miyamoto always wanted to make new entries. It wasn't until the ports of 1-3 that the game exploded in popularity and got 3x its life time sales. Fire Emblem was once considered super niche and Three Houses managed to be the best selling in the franchise.

Not only that but Nintendo had a STRONG line up of first year games with something from third parties (Puyo Puyo, Skyrim, Mario and Rabids) and their own games (Mario Kart, Mario Odyssey, BOTW, ARMS, and Splatoon 2 to name just a FEW from that line up.) This is from my own memory. I can't even name a single PS5 launch year and even if i said "Astro's Playroom" i still don't know if that's a launch year title. Sony's the complete opposite and has become the straw man of an old image I saw where every Playstation console had new and different characters while Nintendo had nothing but Zelda Mario and Kirby. Sony hates their legacy now and can't stand the idea that something like Parappa or Kingdom Hearts was something that drew in their audience.

Ironically, I can name at least one XBOX Series X title and it's Yakuza 7 lmao

In case you thought you hated Sony enough, a new update came out about Helldivers 2 on Steam. They are now requiring you to link a Playstation Network account to play Helldivers 2 on Steam. For extra hilarity, it was just announced yesterday that Helldivers 2 is the 7th highest grossing Sony published game in history but if they don't count the PC sales, it wouldn't even rank in the top 20.
