Sony hate thread

Oh shit, let's just throw another 4 million eyeballs on the spectacle.

Is this a new record for killing good will from a game, 4 months?
Post launch, probably. Does anyone know where Helldivers 2 topped out on review scores? I'd think that the earlier server issues would have precluded hitting the threshold for "Overwhelmingly Positive."

It's midnight on the weekend and the negative reviews seem to be coming it at ~6000/hr. They've dropped from 56% to 55% in like 35 minutes.

Wait until you nigger cattle actually read the terms of service for PSN. Its rather horrific and I broke it down in this thread with some of their big hits.

Some highlights.

You give Sony an exclusive moderation right over you, to include the application of AI moderation software to insure compliance.

Failure to provide your real name and real address is a bannable offense. Sony at their discretion may require you to provide documentation to verify your identity. Failure to provide that documentation is a bannable offense.

You must comply with the code of conduct at all times. The Code of conduct is about what you would expect from a tech company in the current year.

If you are banned, at their discretion, Sony may also ban the accounts of your immediate family as well.

By accepting the terms of service you agree that any programs deployed on the PSN are the sole property of Sony and you are being given an unexclusive licence that may be revoked at any time, for any reason, at Sony's sole discretion.

You have no recourse under the law, and by signing the agreement you wave all your rights under all relevant statutes. If you have a problem you agree to binding arbitration.
I made a video about it too.

Vietnam and the Philippines are on the added countries list for some reason, even though you can (?) get a PSN account in those countries.
Wrong. They have Sony WEBSITES for those regions but not PSN. If you want to get a PSN account in either of those countries, you have to sign in Hong Kong.

Catastrophic consumer backlash is the only language these companies understand. This has to happen and it probably has to happen like fifty more times to have any hope against the "you'll own nothing and be happy" business model that every single major publisher has been pushing toward for 20 years now.

Yeah the review score needs to plunge like this.
Hopefully the financial damage remains limited until an actual follow-up happens to their announcement of "reconsideration".

I'm a firm believer of "proportionate response" in matters that are not life and death.

People don't realize this but even if Sony changed the decision, it would leave a permanent mark on the game's reputation. Sure the positive reviews would come back afterwards but a handful of people will not want to go back again. It is happening with Escape from Tarkov at the moment and now Helldivers 2 will have a taste of their own medicine.

Tarkov is a pain in the fucking ass to play though.
Its controls are deliberately anti-human.

Poor guys, if only they hadn't taken a ton of money from Sony in exchange for these things.
Its almost like they only have themselves to be mad at.
Don't forget that they also sold the game to regions where it isn't possible to create account for Sony's little walled garden.
That revenue and user count must've looked good on the way up.

I found out that Sony blocked all their games in Russia which I think is the most niggardly move I've seen in a long time.
Like all those people who just happened to be born there have a say in what the fuck their leader does. Man seriously fuck Sony.

The funniest thing is that many post-USSR countries (e.g. Kazakhstan) did not have their own region, and used the RU region for years, and got fucked as well.

Sony fucked 'em over.

I wasn't aware of this eventuality where a Playstation account will be required. Me and the group of friends I played Helldivers 2 with weren't aware of this either, it's listed on a side bar in the Steam page.

The Helldivers 2 devs should've done a better job informing the players of this requirement at game's launch, just in case Sony would try forcing them to link their accounts.

Adding salt to the injury, in some countries (former Eastern Bloc, Middle East, Latin America) you can't make a Playstation account so...

...Sony sucks and fucked 'em over, but the devs could've done a much better job at dropping the bomb on the community.
