I just gotta say it this movie sucks. I hated everyone in it and I wish these selfish late late bloomer's refusal to grow up resulted in them all dying after a hospital or orphanage or something burns down.

What a bunch of cunts.

This film isn't nostalgic. Fuck the eighties.

It is nostalgic, but St Elmos fire is a big meh. Its about growing up and the transition from high school to adulthood;

But so much of the setting of the movie is completely foreign to current generations (imagine a functioning economy).

Theres good points, but nostalgia for it is is like millennials having nostalgia for Scott Pilgrim.

Here is all the information I have on: ELMO

"St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)" from John Parr is the song from the movie that gets the most nostalgia today but I also remember both the lyrical and instrumental versions of David Foster's "Love Theme" from St. Elmo's Fire being overplayed on Canadian radio when I was a kid, probably because it counted as "Canadian Content" since composer David Foster is Canadian.

It was shit when it came out too.

I thought it was common knowledge that the movie was shit, and is only remembered for the song.
the song is banger tho
The song absolutely kicks ass. It was one of those upbeat 80's montage-style songs akin to "You're The Best" from Karate Kid and "Hearts on Fire" from Rocky IV.

Fun fact: the singer of St. Elmo's Fire is actually a British guy named John Parr, who sings with an American accent. Infamous turbo-cuck Todd in the Shadows covered this song on One Hit Wonderland.

I'm gonna take the opportunity of this shit thread to point to the very fun Japanese cover of St. Elmo's Fire by Hironobu Kageyama.

It's at 43:51 in cause Youtube a shit.

I never saw it. It didn't look very interesting compared to The Breakfast Club so I skipped it.
