It's only one game. They're actually far more likely to go under (or at least leave the hardware business) because of this market situation that's forcing them release all their games on PC in the first place.
to be fair that's sony's (or more jim ryan's) fault for going all in on moviegames. most people use it as a cod/fifa machine, if they even play games at all and not just use it as a netflix box (something that's also absolute ass on PC btw, another thing normalfags would care about). how much money has sony dumped into making aloy a thing? meanwhile they get constantly dunked on by smaller studios and newer IPs. in a way it's like chasing e-sports, it not something you can force.
it doesn't even make fucking sense economically because games on that level take years to produce, what you gonna release in the meantime? or did they hope third parties are gonna fill the void which usually are multiplats? even fucking microsoft had a better strategy than that.
Man, SIE's finances must be a total dumpsterfire if it only took a weekend of bad reviews and mass refunds for them to bend the knee.
might also be one of the lawyers finally checked his mails sunday evening to be ready for the coming work week and saw that clusterfuck of questionable legal actions, then dialed the right number to get it called off to not get reamed by courts all over the globe, let alone possible fallout with valve (doubt they're happy having to deal with that shit over the weekend).
the PR hit was already bad enough.
I can't think of a single PC gamer clamoring for Ghost of Tsushima.
that's why I'm question him being a mustard in the first place, he sounds more like a salty snoy thinking anyone gives a shit about not!asscreed japan. and even the mustards that might do already played sekiro 5 years ago. same reason they want bloodborne, not because it's a sony game, but because it's fromsoft.
