Been workshopping ideas for my own "competing standard" anomaly thing.
>Strangereal type world, more control over history of events
>Anomaly object class is included in name rather than having various designations, for example SCP has Safe, Euclid, and Keter (among others), RPC has Ratings and Color (Gamma-Orange) as well as Hazards (Grouped Hazard, Sapient Hazard). Instead of that it would be based on a single letter. ADA-B for example would be "Anomaly Dangerous Area - Biological." ASH-M "Anomaly Safe Humanoid - Mechanical" AVO-I "Anomaly Volatile (equivalent to SCP's Euclid or RPC's Beta) Object - Inorganic" and probably a number based on how many there were of that exact class or something, again I'm still workshopping it. Thinking "ADA-B1" followed by "ADA-B2" and so on. This allows for more flexibility when it comes to designations, so there isn't a "Archon, Thaumiel, Pencil" situation. Nor will it be as retarded to make a new one (some of those "custom" object classes some SCPs had are cringe-coma inducing). There would be a limit of course, but I'm worried that'll just clog shit up if I allow only 3 inital letters, 1 follow up letter, and a number. But I don't want it to turn into something like "AVHA-BM420 (Anomaly Volitile Humanoid Area - Biological Mechanical #420)."
>Separate groups, some of equal importance, others not so much, rather than one group taking the spotlight. It would depend on the wealth and power of the country. Different methods, different environments. Fake Europe based containment group could focus on securing specifically useful objects if they can benefit the group or even humanity in some way, Fake American can focus on containing the most dangerous anomalies and neutralize them if possible, smaller groups from small countries can focus their efforts on safer anomalies while the bigger groups can handle the more dangerous anomalies. There would be conflicts, there would be outright war, but in the end they are all after the same goal, the safeguard of humanity. Maybe subgoals like securing funds or powerful anomalies for one reason or another. It shouldn't be this incorruptible super organization that has infinite funds that is above the government nor do I think it should be a single group funded by the world, realistically governments would want their own slice of the anomaly pie, for profits or power.
>Less Deity shit than SCP but maybe one or two, they should be minimally engaged and only used with the approval of multiple writers. They can be the 001's of this fictional setting
I want to write this as a book (series hopefully) first to set up the setting then make a website (probably not wikidot but not sure what else is there) to support it and of course allow competent writers to help flesh out the setting. Anomalies included that wouldn't be my own would be financially compensated depending on how much the anomaly is used, so there's an actual financial incentive rather than volunteers. Not sure how that'll go but if all else fails I could tell the writers to set up a donation page in the meantime. Any advice or where to go for advice on setting this up? I've been writing all my life but I'll never be sure of its quality until I put something out there, and I've no idea how to set anything else up.
I imagine it's because there was no real storyline. Just a vague sense of having to gather over 500 objects, and yes every single entry was its own mini-story so it'd be a pain in the ass. It was really baby's first edgy creepypasta from what I can remember with total bullshit trials with no real coherent narrative. I remember there'd be shit like
"Go down the hall and you'll meet The Doorman. If he smiles at you, you can pass. If he frowns, you'll suffer an infinite torture and beg for death when he's done with you."
Like some of these demon guardians only let you pass if they're in a good mood or some shit. It's really not worth reading.
RNG, the mythos. "I stubbed my toe so I'll dock you for all of eternity." Glad I skipped it.
