Sony hate thread

xbox 360 era tps
Honestly, it being a TPS and a take on Starship Troopers is the main reason I’m even interested in it.
but at least PCfaggots dude wasn't trying. Or it didn't seem like he was. If you want to insult a demographic and are hurting for something good to say you just call them fags and move on, you don't sit around brainstorming what to say. If you do that you've already lost, they're living rent-free in your head.
Unlike you, I have the ability and mental capacity to come up with things without having to sit and ponder like
🤔
It’s not “trying”, it’s having more than two brain cells to rub together. You wouldn’t know.
Get better material, boot licker.
I don’t even own a PlayStation lmao.
You sound like a leftoid.
“Everyone I don’t like is a bootlicker.”

That fucking fag is derailing all the others threads for a long time.
Don't try to reason with fags.

Yeah this guy is the annoying kind of triangle not the entertaining kind of triangle. You can predict everything he is going to say 2 pages in advance, I don't even have puzzle pieces to spare for this shit. it's not even a creative troll. I would rather listen to Moria cope about Japanese sales figures for 300 pages, just ignore.

Yet you're defending them as if you have a personal stake in the company. Why does it matter to you if you don't play games on a PC or a PS5?
Best decision I ever made on the farms was finally setting him to ignore. There aren't enough Puzzle Pieces for me to give him. He's a Reddit Fag - he used the same name there, if you want to go digging.

More on topic - been seeing more people claiming that the PC market isn't worth it for Playstation titles. Frankly, I've just been playing a small game of "Are you a Bot or are you actually that retarded?" If the market wasn't there, Sony wouldn't be trying to port titles to make up for this console gen being an abject failure to the point games are still being made for the PS4.

Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan in a slideshow focused on PlayStation has revealed the sales for the PC versions of games that originally released on the PlayStation 4.

Horizon: Zero Dawn has sold 2,398,000 on PC in about a year and a half, while God Of War (2018) has sold 971,000 units on PC in just two and a half months and Days Gone has sold 852,000 units on PC in about 10 months. The figures are as of March 2022.

Horizon: Zero Dawn has generated $60 million revenue, God of War (2018) generated $26.2 million revenue, and Days Gone generated $22.6 million in revenue.

This is revenue so I presume it's after Valve's cut but before costs.

@Edgy But Dull

I agree with most of what you're saying but I think you're drastically underestimating how old "late twenties" is at this point. That's nearly 30 years old. If someone was born from 1995 to 1998 they were absolutely old enough to remember the 6th generation at least. If not the 5th. I certainly do. My childhood was the original Xbox with Halo, Mechassault, KUF, and more. Alongside PC games like Half Life 2 and it's multiplayer mods, UT2004, Civ 4. All that jazz. And I'm not an anomaly in that regard. Most of my generation has very fond memories of those times. We know there were better times and better games. But some have chosen to subsume their critical thinking skills for the sake of group-think and in-group bias. Because being a consoomer is all they have. Ignorance isn't an excuse for corporate boot licking when people DO know better they just choose to tongue ass instead.

Jesus Christ, you were literally, quite literally saying that this or that insult is shit, and you have a better one. I told you that if you even have to THINK about it you're wasting your time. You wrote 2 or 3 phrases on the topic of "PCucks" that you absolutely didn't need to.

To prove my point I'll simply call you an Autisthreader... wait no, that's bad. I think that Sposter rolls off the tongue really nicely! Probably not that obvious, so how about hmm... hmm...

See how retarded that is when I can just call you a nigger instead? Nigger.

Seems like it's worth it to me. How much does it cost to ship a port?
Port Bloodborne, ffs. That'll make them some money.

Depends on the engine, Unreal or Unity you basically just select PC from the Build menu. Steam handles launching and distribution (it's not like the old days where you needed a Battlenet style launcher and an updater). If it's some other in house engine then there is more work involved, obviously you need to make some tweaks to menus, options, add mouse and keyboard support/mapping... but all of these things are developed on PCs so it's always possible.

... and of course to do a good port you need to optimize, work with the card manufacturers to get launch drivers and such.

So yeah it's not without cost but I would say probably a couple million spent on a small team working for a year or so. Because of the age of the game something like BB might be a remaster and obviously that is more work too.... but it would sell enough to make it worthwhile.

Port Bloodborne
Porting the actual game would probably be very simple, as it runs on the DS3 engine. Even modders could do it.

The biggest hurdle I see is that they'd have to pay for the servers, and the current controversy has shown that nobody wants to make a PSN account so they can't even take a loss now for something else later down the line. If Sony was a company that tries to cultivate an actual brand and goodwill I could see a reason for them putting BB on PC, but as they're exactly the opposite of that I can't see any reason why.

Why would they put BB on PC and pay for servers when there's still a wide repertoire of scummy tactics they can try on the consumer? This actually goes double given that they hate anything that has to do with the now defunct Japan Studio; and anything Japanese, for that matter.

Correct me if I'm wrong but from the leaks it looked like the cost of porting to PC was 30 to 60m.

I would be very interested in seeing the relevant correspondence.

There are so many ways of looking at it. Sixty-mil is an entire AA budget though (and they usually include a PC and console release these days). It could be a complete rework of the UI/Textures/Models and resolution support (a remaster). It could be a port to a modern engine for an old game built on another architecture (When did everything go x86 Xbox One)?. I could see Rockstar spending this (in house engine, game not build for PC originally, HD texture rework, super optimized maps, in house launcher, crazy bloated budgets and polish levels in general).. Could be rolled in with marketing, licensing, support, infrastructure and legal costs?

I assure you though that for modern games making the code run is fairly trivial... and I hope to god they aren't blowing 30 mil on keyboard support and some aliasing options.

Fromsoft already has a PC build of Bloodborne internally.
