It appears that her various friends in high places she used to lean on like Judd Apatow have moved on from her. It has been almost a decade since her book and partially canceled book tour took place, which was the last time she ever hit the news. She may still hype herself up but the interesting projects, which rarely ever materialized for her in the best of times, are gone like her uterus. She’ll have to do something on her own to get a second wind but considering all she was able to pull off and replicate was Tiny Furniture, it doesn’t look likely. A middle aged dumpy millennial woman who deals with life not turning out her way would probably be a hit but her ego would never allow her to be in that role.

It would be an excellent project for her, Girls the Aftermath.
I’m still expecting to hear she bought some ovum and rented an Eastern European womb, or got a hold of a black baby to “adopt” with her husband. I was going to predict it happening 2-4 years after her wedding as a band-aid. Her trying to turn into hipster mommy blogger seemed likely…as well as her doing a project on her “journey to motherhood.”
Writing about a dumpy millennial in an unsatisfactory middle age would be surprisingly refreshing choice. Her not turning to motherhood to find meaning/fresh content is probably giving her too much credit.

All I can say is, I somehow made it through one season of Girls mostly because of the kinda hot English chick. And oh man, poor Adam Driver! He’s a much better actor than anyone gives him credit for, pretending he’s attracted to Lena.
Once upon a time being fat and pale was a status symbol because it meant that you could afford to eat a lot and stay out of the sun, unlike the peasants and proletarians. Then when pretty much everyone in the developed world had a surplus of food, being fat and pale became a sign of lower class. The rich get a healthy tan in Aspen or Palm Beach (according to the season) and they are almost invariably thin.

Shoshanna is the real mvp of that show.
At the end, she told the other three girls they were losers and how fed up she was with their drama. Never felt more "represented" by a character than this.

I thought there was an episode where Shoshanna goes to visit her dad, the prototype of the narcissist boomer, who has a new wife half his age and a young kid - dad played by Gary Oldman. Shosh finally yells at him: “I’m supposed to be the kid!” I might have the details wrong but this one stuck with me.

Prediction: Non-binary coming out == Critics love it, but it will lose money.

She reminds me of Diablo Cody in that they're both attention whores, they're one-hit wonders, they both rate themselves much too highly, and no one wants to give either one a job or a budget to run through anymore. I also think both of them are pill-heads.

I think it's less of a bit and more of a genuine identity she revels in. She is what my people call a "bushpig" and proud of it.
If you haven't watched Girls, it's a great show. Highly recommend for anyone who despises hipster soyfolx and wants to see them suffer the consequences of their own incompetence. It's basically the The Young Ones with 2000s era NYC white girls.

Pill heads is spot on. I think much of her actions and instability the last ten years was to lots of legal Rx. Celebrities can turn on the pill faucet rather easily, and Lea double pumped the spigot with ready to fire “misogyny” and “fat phobia” if the doctor wasn’t ready to prescribe the goods.
Her hysterectomy saga had all the markers of pill seeking drama….it will end in major surgery after so many years of demanding pain relief, the final, last resort stuff will be taken. I always thought her hysterectomy PR tour was trying to undue the reputation she had gotten for being an unreliable pill head flake in the industry. How dare you! She had a very serious medical condition that she is no going to great pains to publicly prove.
I don’t doubt she had painful endometriosis but as a result of that I think she got a taste of pills early on due to it and her appetite for them rapidly increased. Hysterectomy don’t even cure endo and if hers was as terrible as she claimed then she’d be suffering all over again. Maybe she’s gotten permanent scripts to keep her happy. I thought the move to the UK was interesting because they are much freer with what scripts are prescribed to confirmed addicts.
Not that a typical American could move to London and get hooked up with lovely understanding doctors but a rich one with rich druggie friends from the UK certainly could.

Well that explains the relationship with her husband, or at least gives a more believable explanation of why he's married to her in her current state. Far FAR more believable than him being "in the truest of love, just the purest deepest love that exists" with Lena. We all saw what his ex looked like, Lena is not his type. No man on this earth would go from blonde model, who puts effort into her health and appearance, to obese, lazy Lena Dunham. Not to mention that she's still his best friend and "Favorite Human".
Lena is a morbidly obese toddler who complains about everything and always needs to be the center of attention. Even hot girls with her personality are impossible to tolerate long term. This guy is with her for the ever flowing river of pills. Lena is his Pillpig.

Sure, and access to wealth and celebrity. A young musician like himself is like the 18 year old beautiful actress, they have a very quick expiration date unless they hit it very big. Luis was never going to be a huge music star, but he definitely like the high life he saw surrounding wealth and celebrities, but the clock was ticking for him. The rich party girls he dated dry up quick once a male musician nears 30 without substantial success and they are apt to dump him for another hot musician or rich guy.
Lena is the equivalent of the rich old man that a blonde 28 year old model will marry for long term security purposes. I just wonder how long his leash is, but if he likes pills as much as Lena she doesn’t have to worry too much about him getting outed for an affair. His priority will be maintaining the lux life and staying high as balls and all he has to do is be a good boy for Lena.
I thought he might come from some wealth, but not sure. Even if he does wealthy parents tend to start closing the checkbook to offspring using drugs and still playing aspiring rock star after age 30. Mama Lena isn’t strict at all and supports “his dreams.”
