During a
recent stream from 1:49:48 to 2:00:30, Nick delved into the upcoming confirmation of his sons and discussed their personalities in some detail.
Sounds like Nick has a well-established double standard where he doesn't have to be as good as his kids. He will just let
them fix society while he drinks himself to death at swinger resorts with their mom.
Nicki is always slouching in his chair and he looks like an old frail man. It's especially jarring when he tricks a guest to be on his show and their cam has normal framing and he's just tiny and sad.
And Nick doesn't see the problem.
This seems to be
tangentially related to Nick presenting himself as authentic/real/raw and not like those other "fake" Internet personalities. Unfortunately for Nick, "not caring what other people think" and looking "rough around the edges" doesn't make his lies go away. It just makes him look more pathetic, especially with how far gone he is now.
If any of you out there are OG MST3K fans, you might remember the movies they riffed where the male lead was an alcoholic slob like Joe Don Baker in
Mitchell. Beer cans all over, unwashed, out of shape, offensive but intended to be a likeable(?) alcoholic who plays by his own rules and somehow there exist people who think this is cool, sexually appealing to women, or otherwise leading man material.
The reality, of course, is far less flattering and invites a mixture of pity, disgust, and mockery.
Nick shares the same misguided notions of "cool" that the makers of films like Mitchell did. Consequently, Nick looking greasy, haggard, degenerate, and drunk makes riffing easy because the material practically writes itself.
An example with some MST3K flair:
True to form, lolcows don't think they are losers, are convinced they are healthy, and can't see why people make fun of them.
