Sony hate thread

Pretty sure he meant “why haven’t you modded your PS3 and made it even better than a non-modded PS3”.

I was wondering why he was so salty. Well, I have a late model PS3 so it's probably not even hackable. It's not even backwards compatible, and frankly, I'm not a modder so I don't know how to do any of that stuff to begin with. It plays games, that's all I need it to do.

All PS3s can be hacked to varying degrees, and all of them are PS1 back compat via emulation, with only a few specific models having hardware ps2 back compat, but most/all can emulate ps2 to a limited extent.

Oh, mine can play PS1, and there's only one PS2 game I'd even want to play and it's Japanese only. Not worth it. PS1 and PS2 aren't really my bag, generally.

I know the current topic is Helldivers 2, but does anybody remember Marvel's Spider-Man 2? I'm seeing a couple videos of how Spider-Man 2 in hindsight is "good" but not "a masterpiece." I remember the first Marvel's Spider-Man having more impact for superhero/licensed video games since the previous Spider Man games from Activision were mediocre at best. Now, it's more of the same at best with no evolution, shoe-horned, uninspired at worst.

Hell, look at the Spider Man bundles from PS4 to PS5.

Disney made fifty dollars on each sale of that Spiderman PS4, fun fact.

Pokémon is only Nintendo in the fact that the franchise can only be on Nintendo consoles and mobile phones due to contract reasons.
Incorrect. Nintendo partially own both the copyright and the trademark to Pokémon. So they are one of the three companies that gets a final say on all aspects of the franchise.

Rumours are GoT 2 will feature a female lead. So let's see how sexy/coombaity she is, potentially.
you'll get a black lesbian with a sidecut, and you gonna like it. also body positive fat.

What the fuck Is got
game of thrones, obviously. duh.

PSN everyone expected. What I'm talking about is charging people to play (PS+) on other platforms and I believe that to be the end game. Which I don't think even EA has done, yet. I mean, they might have, but I can't remember it and can't find it anywhere. I know they tried to charge for used games, but that was a different kind of stupid.
EA doesn't have it's own console. besides that I've seen a few people think that, but it's basically another HURR SONY post. not even microsoft succeeded with that, and they own the fucking operating system.
unless you mean ea play. which has existed for years, just like ubisoft+. companies trying to make money via subscription services is hardly anything new, and there are people literally saying microsoft's gamepass is a good thing - but sony doing it is bad apparently? and it isn't anything new either: https://blog.playstation.com/2019/10/01/playstation-now-everything-you-need-to-know/
yeah it's streaming thus shit, but the point is you could play sony games on PC with a sub for 5 years already, there's zero logic in trying to piggyback via mandatory accounts for multiplayer to make people pay for their own internet like they do on console. people will just laugh and play something else.

FF7 Rebirth is still selling like shit and it might barely meet FF16's week 1 sales after 3 months. What is Square Enix's response to this disaster? They are now dropping PS exclusivity and doing day 1 releases on all platforms now.
squareenixlol.png
So Stellar Blade's week 1 sales were pretty weak (48,998), doing worse than Rise of the Ronin (64,646) and Dragon's Dogma 2 (68,592). To make matters worse, Stellar Blade saw a huge 63% drop in sales for its second week, selling only 18,113 units. Comparatively RotR saw a 69% drop in its second week and DD2 saw a 87% drop in its second week. It didn't even maintain the #1 spot in the second week because Endless Ocean Luminous came out and sold 28,345 units.

I swear to fucking God, it actually happened.
With the March releases dying down overall and not much on the horizon for now, Stellar Blade shouldn't have much competition hindering its sales for its release week and the weeks following it. Then again, I could be wrong and Nintendo's fucking dolphin game somehow mogs one of the most hyped up games this year.

I'd say 2 has higher highs, but it's got a weaker start even taking into account the opening with Sandman. Allowing you to switch between characters also really harms the pacing.

Spider-Man 2 isn't terrible, but it's so similar to the first that I only remember the ways it's worse. None of the new mechanics were game changers. It's just more of the same with even more "current year" writing.
To anyone who's only played the first, you've played the best of it Insomniac has made or ever will. Unless you've played every other similar game and you're really bored, the sequels are not worth your time.

The high points for me were Kraven, Venom and what's being set up for the future games. It's definitely a case of A) the game being rushed so you can feel a lot of the jank and B) more interesting things being saved for sequels (Carnage, Chameleon, Doc Ock as Master Planner etc.).

I have a teeny bit of hope for them making a Venom game that isn't shit. Not a ton, but I'll wait and see on it.

Plot Twist: Everything will be cloud only gaming to prevent mods and other fixes SE can't be fucked to do on their own games.

I don't trust these companies anymore as far as i can throw them. Everytime something good happens it's always followed up with something bad, if not much worse.
