I think your writing is good.
I got the points and the implications, it flowed well for me, and didn’t feel like a grudge list.
It never hurts to take on constructive criticism too. Hopefully you will be doing a lot more articles and publishing them often and hopefully they will get traction.

One thing I was told when trying to write grants and review papers was structure:
1. Tell them what you’re going to tell them
2. Tell them it
3. Tell them what you told them and why you told them it.

So point 1 is setting the stage ‘I’m going to tell you a tale about a man called Liz, and how he’s trying to affect YOUR ability to speak freely.
Point two is what you wrote in your article, all the evidence clearly laid out and flowing (I think you did this fine.)
Point three is ‘sum it up and why you, the reader should care.’ Perhaps that would be the only thing I would have added; a sum up and a why it’s relevant to me, Joe bloggs at home.
I’ll not repeat what the first awful feedback I had from an editor was because it was very frank and rude (and I guess, justified) and it still smarts twenty five years later, lol.

Whenever Eunuchs have gained institutional power society as a whole has always suffered, from Achaemenid Persia, to the Ottoman Empire and Imperial China, their scheming and degeneracy and selfish behavior has always gotten increasingly disruptive until the societies they damaged have had no choice but to purge the Eunuchs.
The problem is memories are short and eventually people forget why its a bad idea to give Eunuchs power and the problem begins again.

This is an article for general dissemination, the target audience is the general public. A conversational style is absolutely the right tack for reaching as broad an audience as possible

Elliot strikes me as a child of wealthy parents rather than a major business mogul. I'm reminded of the idea of a billionaire businessman who has a wife that operates a "company" of her own at a complete loss. Given his actions and behavior, a combination of furious persistence and the power of the dollar bill is a more feasible explanation rather than some innate genius.

Call me crazy but I can barely read it because the structure is so choppy. Conversational tone doesn't work well when writing something long form because the way we speak and write are not the same. It's formatted for Pam and Mike down at the hardware store who don't give a shit about reading it anyway. If you want important, well educated Internet people reading it and taking it seriously, throw them a bone and have someone clean it up for you. Otherwise it reads like a court transcript which is not what you're going for when you're trying to sell an idea to the general public.

In the end, I don't really care. Do what you want. It's a 1 man operation and I'm not the guy.
