Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

There's still "stabbing in poorly-lit alleys". I would also guarantee that driving home also makes the chances of you getting raped, robbed, or stabbed infinitesimal number. I'm not a feminist by any stretch of the imagination but just think of how many womens' lives have been protected by a vehicle.
Cars ain't a panacea for everything, there is a rise in popularity of "follow home" robberies where people's vehicles are followed until they park in the driveway and get out. But that shows you how good a big metal box is at protecting people, niggers have to wait for people to stop or get out of their cars first before committing a crime on them.

The urbanites /anti car activists have been getting quite annoying on the socials lately so I've taken to trolling them. I find posts on instagram that compare american suburbs, highway interchanges, etc to european or asian (usually the former) cities and I drop a comment about how the city is hell on earth and I would never want to live there. I sometimes like to reply to myself and say something like "cue the storm of insults from citybrains who can't provide good arguments." The angry replies calling me dumb or poorly traveled, sometimes even facist, just flood in. The citybrain can be molded like clay and provoked like a shitbull.

Not to mention the additional range in distance between work and home you gain by having access to a car. If you had to live somewhere in a walkable distance, stalking becomes significantly easier. Typically the refrain from the carfuckers is some cope about "EYES ON DA STREET WILL PREVENT EVERYTHING." Which is an outright farcical idea when you consider that for every random jogger chimpout captured on YouTube or TikTok, there was some other person nearby that did absolutely nothing other than pull out a phone, begin recording, offer occasional commentary, and later post it to the internet. I guess that's the average redditor's definition of preventing crime.

Honestly, building car-only express lanes with autobahn speed “limits” in the medians of I-35, I-45, and I-10 would be cheaper and result in faster travel times. Texans already drive at 80-95 on those roads, a factor not taken into account when computing the time “savings” of a potential HSR train. Imagine driving between cities at the gentleman’s speed of 155 mph.
Having driven through no where land Texas on the US-54 that's all flat and filled with beef factories and wind farms and has a town called Hooker off the freeway, I observed many drivers, even big rigs driving well over the posted 80mph speed limit. Texan highways are wild and there definitely is an argument for higher speeds.

Ironically, the plan for the Dallas-Houston HSR line includes razing half of downtown Dallas (the convention center area) rather than building the station on empty land at the airport like Brightline did in Orlando and China did in Shanghai. The urbanists want it to stop in downtown no matter the cost despite DFW being a much more convenient location for everyone who doesn’t live downtown. They’ve managed to piss off a major real estate developer by derailing their plans to build a massive mixed-use complex as well as half of the city council.
The thing is, Texas Central Railway's Houston station is on the site of a dead mall they own through a shell company, about six miles from downtown.

I said reduced the risk, not completely eliminated it (and that assumes locking doors/rolling up windows). Even so, the network of roads make it easy to know if you're being followed or not (remember, just four right turns). In other modes of transportation, if you suspect someone is following you home your goose is cooked.

In the "walkable city past" they fantasize about, twilight and night were regarded as universally dangerous and something to be avoided if you could help it. Even the most "walkable" city goes quiet in the wee hours of the night, and in the places that don't (bar/casino districts) are a hotbed of criminals looking for an easy mark.

Part of the issue about highway speeds is not understanding how freeways actually move. Yeah, we know about the "induced demand" which demonstrates a poor understanding of where traffic even comes from, but the real slowdowns come from exits and entrances. Traffic slows down on the main freeways when lots of cars enter the highway at once. Due to lots of exits and urban resistance to freeway expansion, trying to even fix exits is a monumental political battle, and usually the quick-n-dirty solution without closing exits is to put in a stoplight to prevent cars from entering the highway at once.

Rural highways don't have that problem, because the exits are so infrequent, and the exits that do exist might be at best lead to a small town or have amenities (a gas station or two, maybe a McDonald's). And guess what? With exits like that, you can have access to a small town that has full access to a network without slowing down anyone else. Can't do that with rail.

If you know they don't live in the subject city, ask them why. Always fun to watch them squirm as they admit that not everyone can afford the admission price to biketopia.

No images day always produces some of the craziest things:
literally incorrect:
Plus i need to root around and find my primary sources but reading some accounts of bandits in the middle ages you pretty quickly realize some if not most were violent psychopaths.
Also that stupid fucking essay gets several things wrong like sloth being leisure(no) and imagining that most of well off didnt have private chapels to worship, the upper classes in Medieval Europe hated the lower classes with a level that would shock most people today
One should never pity a peasant if one sees him break an
arm or leg, or sees him in want of anything, for a
peasant, so help me God, will never help with his own
goods even one who may touch him most by pity or
compassion, wherefore his deeds should be blamed.

They repeatedly use theme parks and colleges as examples of "walkable cities"
They want to be eternal tourists to be catered to rather than actual inhabitants of a place, that's all it boils down to.
Good, light, angels, happiness:

I had wondered what Supermarkets looked like in dense urban environments, I do appeciate how the parking blends into the surroundings.
I've always found it funny that the people that complain about it don't seem to realize that it's a godsend for the poor and people barely scraping by
Because Urbanists are either middle class or people who desperately want to be middle class.
Anyway, look at all the extra space in this truck:
>not knowing that having extra space in the engine bay makes things much less of a ballache to maintain
Jason really is a shit.

Jesus Christ how horrifying.
the real slowdowns come from exits and entrances.
It doesn't help that a lot of infrastructure was made back in the 1950s where the issues with certain intersections (cloverleaves especially) weren't well understood which means that a lot of older networks are built using subpar designs.

The solution to this is not allowing tailgating into apartment garages and head out parking when at home. Once the car is in the garage you close the garage door then turn the car off.

No need to even pull a gun if their is a robbery attempt, just run them or preferably crush them between their car and your car.

How a follow home robbery should end. No need to kill them, living the rest of their life as a cripple is an even greater punishment.

It's endless suffering.

Why yes, officer. That's the man that came onto my property and pointed guns at me while demanding I turn over my money.

Even in Houston and Dallas where freeways are built properly, there's still all the exits and entrances to deal with and the sheer volume.

There was a video I saw which I'm pretty sure was in Houston in one of those cuck townhomes that are 3-4 stories tall and can fit twenty to an acre, and some thieves (no need to guess the race) snuck in as the garage door was closing. Thankfully, the owner wasn't a cuck and blasted them, sending them scurrying out.

That's hardly a life.

Even if you don't get "these people secretly hate me" vibes (which may be justified, especially traveling overseas), you can pick up a feeling of not belonging to a place.

There's a whole armchair psychology to bugmen and would-be bugmen, with the feeling that something is horribly wrong with the bugman life but too stuck-up or dumb to really understand it. They want to be tourists because they don't find any sense of belonging in their day to day life. An apartment building with people coming and going, a city full of people without patriotism, a life without ownership or conviction.

a life without ownership or conviction

They're proud of that.

Also something strange is up with Jason's Reddit account. Viewing his account on old Reddit shows his profile normally, but viewing it through new Reddit shows he's been suspended despite not posting as much and locking down his subreddit to only allow his own posts (though I've always wondered if that was against Reddit's TOS).

I like no image day. Forcing them to verbalize their arguments without the help of creating dumb memes really emphasizes the lunacy of their actual thoughts.

one day without the thousandth image of a pickup truck taken beside a kei truck. "oh look the heckin' bed size is the same chud!"

People say that Musk has retarded ideas, but once in a while I feel like he has a good one. I think he might be a tend setter for lightly armored vehicles. Youtubers have mostly been harping on the idea saying "why do you need a bulletproof truck". But they never really explained how it actually affects them. Who cares if someone wants to buy a bulletproof vehicle. In the scenario where it doesn't get used nothing happens. It's like arguing against why do you need a fire extinguisher.

How dare my truck-owning friend be happy! He should be as miserable as me!

Just like how a lot of anti-gunners hate guns because they imagine themselves committing a mass shooting whenever they get annoyed, urbanists hate cars because they have road rage problems though we already knew that because they're cyclists.

This is a funny photo because the girl is posing with the deer the same way that a hunter would. Anyone who has lived in an area where deer roam knows that if you drive after dusk in the suburbs or in a rural area, there is a real chance a deer will dart in front of your car. There are millions of them and they are not the smartest animals.

OP is getting shit on in the comments:

Elon Musk hails from South Africa, and knows which way the winds are blowing in the United States.

These people have no sense of humor, you'd think someone would make a joke about the "true parasite of society" being the wheelchair person.

Someone speaks ill of the Holy Land:
"A rethinking of the tram system"...see this is why buses still rule and put they streetcars out of business. Bus routes can be changed. Rail can't.

These people need to grow up and realize the importance of hunting. Fuck deer, they're amazing animals but they're too stupid for their own good and would destroy their own populations if it meant reproducing.

Its so painfully obvious none of these people ever go out in nature, and I don't mean their carefully curated parks.
