Tabletop Roleplaying Games (D&D, Pathfinder, CoC, ETC.)

That’s very grim and gothic, which is cool, but not necessarily what I would call Christian. No peace on earth and universal brotherhood when there’s a war going on.
That's because the whole project is all about aesthetics. All form, no function. Which is why they were very pikachuface.jpg when the chuds, AKA: people who expect religious aesthetics to be associated with some kind of faith, showed up.

Well to be honest, those chuds are fucking retarded. How long have these nerds been around? We have decades of fiction using religious aesthetics that are entirely divorced from their religion. How did they think that a gory, warped version of Christian aesthetics was going to represent the Christian religion?

Anyone have advice for replacing players in a higher level party? One of the players in my Darksun game had to stop playing very suddenly. Now I've only got 3 players and the party is at level 10. I've considered using a DMPC in the mean time, but I really don't like doing that as I feel it takes away from the players and it's more book keeping for me.
I had to replace a player when my party was level 17 and I grabbed him from another game we were apart of. That's generally the easiest way to do it, I've found. If you need a few weeks, I'd just have an NPC they know/like show up and do stuff, maybe use a pregen character or monster for his stats and don't give him much to do the players don't push onto him.

You've got the wrong angle. It's not that the chuds are Christians or expecting Real Christianity™ in the game. It's that they expect the characters in the game universe to behave like religious fanatics. You know, people going around nailing crosses to their own flesh aren't going to be lovey-dovey and tolerant. So people discussing it are going to be talking about some pretty extreme subjects. As an example, that discussion mentioned earlier in their discord, about whether or not the Aztecs would side with the demons since their rituals involved a lot of death and suffering. It's a perfectly relevant discussion in a setting where demonic cults derive magical power from rituals. But it's "icky" to the people running the show, because it implies indigenous peoples weren't all lacing their arms together and singing kumbaya.

Anyway, 99% of the people LARPing Deus Vult aren't actual crusaders. They just like the LARP that goes along with the aesthetics, because it's something exotic to see in an increasingly more secular world. Same deal with 40K: BURN THE WITCH, KILL THE HERETIC, PURGE THE UNCLEAN! is a great warcry to go along with the religious themes in the setting, and way too many people (including a fair few self-professed "chuds") don't seem to understand that it's all fiction.

The people that complain about the chuds enjoying anything are just as insufferable. “Well ackshually it’s a parody of Margaret Thatcher” shut the fuck up, you don’t actually care about any of it enough to just enjoy the games.
These people don't understand what "parody" means either. The best parodies are the ones played straight (see also: Airplane!, a movie where the characters are dead serious but the situation is a fucking farce), but they wouldn't know one if it bit them in the ass because everything has to be "ironic" (read: spelled out so nobody can get the wrong idea). Yeah, the Orks in 40K are a parody of soccer hooligans. Who cares? Shouting "WAAAAAAAAGH!" and using poor grammar while talking in a Cookie Monster voice are half the fun, parody or not.

Chuds don't care. It's why they glommed onto 40k's Imperium of Man.

NOOOOO IT'S DARK SATIRE YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO ACTUALLY THINK KILLING HERETICS IN THE NAME OF THE EMPEROR IS COOL
My general rule for RPing a character with an absolutely insane ideology, even if it's hilarious, is to play it completely straight as if I actually believe it.

Leslie Nielsen was so good in these movies precisely because he'd been a serious actor in straight but (often) bad movies and could do it like he was completely unaware of any humor in the situation. He'd had to do it not for comedy.

That’s all there is to it, people just want to enjoy something that’s fun. The media literacy crowd struggles with that part because they can’t enjoy anything unless there’s a way they can relate it to their own politics. That begs the question of if they actually enjoy it or not, or if it’s just spiting those they dislike that they actually enjoy. I say that because you probably (most likely) never see any of these people at your LGS.

"Media literacy" just means any and all media is a springboard for you to whine about how bad Blacks, strongindependentwomyn, and transfolx have it.
Psssst. The Elites don't want you to know about this but death of the author is free, and you can make up whatever interpretation you want I have 538 Fascist interpretations of ostensibly left wing works at home.

They literally are not literate in media. Worse, they don't even understand it. I doubt a single one of these faggots have read Marshall McLuhan and if they did, they didn't understand a word he said. It's funny how little these idiots understand about media when they have appointed themselves as its censors and Pharisees.

Yeah I'm going to look through my friend circle first. It's just going to be tough to find someone that: wants to play, can handle coming into a game late and can actually show up the day it happens.

Imagine modern board games being as based as the ones in the 80's

Also listened to some youtube faggot talk about WOD's Wraith. It's ridiculous how the plot (at least how he describes it) is literally "everything is white person's fault". Like the transatlantic slave trade was some new level of evil that humanity never engaged in. Or that nuking hiroshima had greater consequences than infinitely worse massacres.

Does anyone know some good OSR or Indie tabletop games? I want to learn about the non-mainstream ttrpgs

Adventure Conquerer King System, aka ACKS. It is non-woke, not in a HEY LOOK AT HOW NOT WOKE I AM, MAGA AM I RIGHT way, but in a "no we are not cutting content or disowning any part of this game's tradition for political or moral reasons" way.

I'm completely over women warriors. Women aren't strong and fast. There are really only two reasons to have an ass-kicking female protagonist. Cheesecake, like old Tomb Raider, or The Message, like new Tomb Raider.
And yet, historically, they were around in Japan. When the lord of the castle wasn't present it was his wife who was responsible for making sure the place ran smoothly and was properly garrisoned, even having her own cadre of female retainers to help her. Similarly, female ninja were quite present, and while they did prefer disguises and the honey pot for obvious reasons, they still knew how to sneak around and if necessary defend themselves.

Of course, this being Ubisoft we can't have actual interesting, fun things. We will not get titties, we will not get an attractive tomboy ninja, we will get an uggo in a burqa and we will be expected to like it.

The Japanese female warriors always sounded like bullshit to me. Like no shit well fed women with polearms in a fortified position were better against malnourished peasants with farming tools as makeshift weapons.
