The "story-based" Mario RPGs have been effectively been killed after Nintendo did a survey on Nintendo Club, where an insane percentage of people said that they didn't give a shit about the story aspect of Paper Mario.

Club Nintendo gave the same cookie-cutter survey for every single first-party game you registered, then gave a follow-up survey two weeks later. Filling out each survey rewarded you with coins that you could use to get real-life physical rewards, so everyone would quickly register their games and fill out the surveys as quickly as possible to get their coins.

Nintendo’s complaint was that less than 1% of these people went out of their way to talk about the story in the freeform “what did you like about this game” text box that was buried in the follow-up survey that fans paid the bare minimum amount of attention to because they would just type “it’s fun” so they could get their coins. Nintendo saw those responses under that context and somehow came to the conclusion that they should never focus on story again.

-boost the color saturation a little
-this one isn't necessary but it would be cool: remake the soundtrack that sounds closer to the original but with a bit more flare and neat additions that make it sound like a "remaster" to these tracks.
