I don't think it's enough to justify the remake but I really like that they added a lot of extra character animations, and the character-specific voice blurbs when reading text are very soulful.
If there's ever a TTYD+ for the remake it would be the "definitive" way to play the game in my opinion.

This is pretty neat, it's running my Switch cartridge directly in the emulator on my computer from the Switch cartridge itself. This is going to change the way I play my Switch games:

Of course, for most people the Mig Switch SD Card reader is probably better, since it allows you to play Switch cartridge backups on your Nintendo Switch. (A bigger problem is I think Mig Switch SD Card readers are hard to get right now.)

(Note: The games load faster after you copy them off of the cartridge to your hard drive, at least if you have an SSD.)

Sharty got the bright idea to email Nintendo and pretend to be concerned parents complaining about the troon dialog in the game to be changed:

I know this is offtopic sperging but you have no idea how much I hate this mentality, every fucking fagbase of a dead series always has to cope and pressure people into buying shit because "guize maybe if enough copies are sold they'll bring back our heckin series!!!!"
Klonoa fags did this, metroid fags did this, banjo fags do this with merch, and now paper mario fags are doing this, it is so tiresome how many fucking people just cannot let go and move on

Reminds me of that time Chris emailed Sega about Sonic with blue arms. Worked just as good as this.

to be honest i still have no idea wtf i'm supposed to think of all this. I haven't played much of this game but i do have the original gamecube game disc sitting around and i could play it now, but at the same time the enhanced graphics of the remake look really good to me and I might want to get the remake eventually. And yeah you can enhance the graphics in dolphin I always have issues with emulators too, bad luck i guess. i'll just wait and see what happens i guess

Welcome to video games in current year, man. Nostalgiafags buy these remakes because they just need to own the same game again, even if it's an inferior version, and modern audiences are mouth-breathing retards that can't play anything standard definition without crying that it's "outdated", so remakes are shat out like wildfire.

You need to look at attach rate though.
Wii sold 100 millions and SPM sold 4.23 millions, so about 4.23% attach rate.
Gamecube sold 22 millions and TTYD 1.91 millions, so about 8.5% attach rate, twice SPM's.

I can't help but think that people are pissed off merely because it is Japanese media which is supposed to be "immune" to the "woke" bullshit that infests Western media. In reality, the Japanese have pretty much always been considered perverts by Western standards of sexual mores. Not trying to justify it but I feel this sort of weird ghost thing that doesn't know what gender it is not why people are upset, and that its the perception of woke translators trying to pollute sacred and pure Japanese media that has sparked the outrage.
