This is pretty neat, it's running my Switch cartridge directly in the emulator on my computer from the Switch cartridge itself. This is going to change the way I play my Switch games:

Of course, for most people the Mig Switch SD Card reader is probably better, since it allows you to play Switch cartridge backups on your Nintendo Switch. (A bigger problem is I think Mig Switch SD Card readers are hard to get right now.)

(Note: The games load faster after you copy them off of the cartridge to your hard drive, at least if you have an SSD.)

I can't help but think that people are pissed off merely because it is Japanese media which is supposed to be "immune" to the "woke" bullshit that infests Western media. In reality, the Japanese have pretty much always been considered perverts by Western standards of sexual mores. Not trying to justify it but I feel this sort of weird ghost thing that doesn't know what gender it is not why people are upset, and that its the perception of woke translators trying to pollute sacred and pure Japanese media that has sparked the outrage.

One of the bigger long running Anime/Manga in japan (Gintama) has an entire gang of ugly men dressed up in kabuki women's clothes. It's partially used for comedy, but from what I've seen also treated somewhat seriously too. Though I've never seen them posted about in tranny circles for pretty obvious reasons.

Well, that just goes to show that a little bit of DIY is always better than throwing money at a problem.

People trading quality for convenience is exactly why we get $70, Chromebook-tier, troonified desecrations of games that were already fine before in the first place. It's the same reason why the industry has turned into a games as a service dystopia filled with trash and price tags on every little feature. Consumers are unable to discern quality and must consoom everything so they don't "miss out" or their careers are based around consooming product on live streams for simps. Companies know this so they will just go with what's good for the bottom line. Right now it's nostalgia since it's easy money from all possible demographics, and troons since they know a lot of their devoted consumer base aligns with that cause and most Nintendo-centered influencers do as well. It just so happens that their next nostalgia cash cow has a "problematic" character and they know it's more profitable to align with the current year doctrine than it is to not appease the troons. They can slip in some bullshit about a non-important character having a stunning and brave moment and most of the normies who will see it (or even conservatives who like nintendo) won't bat an eye or will overlook it because they view it as a molehill.

Only a portion of consumers who are interested in this game will make a stink about it online, and the ones that do will either be shouting into a void or get mobbed and drowned out by the fanatics. Most normies either don't know or don't care so it won't really affect Nintendo's public image. Meanwhile they create more loyal, guaranteed customers out of the tranny sycophants because they pandered to them a little bit. It doesn't matter to Nintendo if little billy contracts mental retardation from being exposed to troon shit in a Mario game. Even if parents get up in arms about it, Nintendo knows it's the parents against the entire mainstream media establishment so they don't have much to worry about and they already got their money from everyone. It's a win-win for the evil corporation.

Clown world aside, this remake would still be shit even if they didn't cave to the troons. Of course the tendies would make excuses for why a remake of a game that ran better on a console from 20 years ago can't handle running at 60 frames or at constant 1080p docked, and while it's easy to blame the shitty hardware, it's more likely because the developers are inept and/or didn't care. There are plenty of more demanding Switch games that run at 60 frames just fine like Diablo 3 or Mortal Kombat 11. Diablo actually runs at 960p compared to TTYD's 900p and it still has a higher framerate. That tells me the developers are the ones at fault. The visuals are ugly too. The washed out color palette is soulless and there are plenty of graphical downgrades or areas that look more plain. The sewer area is a great example. Look at the bricks on the center wall in the first image and the background water in the second image.

The solution to these problems would be Total Industry Death but it doesn't seem that's going to happen anytime soon. But mediocrity should definitely not be rewarded with money. We don't need remakes of every little thing and like you said, DIY doesn't hurt. People should educate themselves on how to play the originals. A little education and work setting shit up instead of having everything handed to them would be good for people.

Playing devil's advocate here -- no kid is going to be playing a remaster of a 20-year-old Gamecube game. They know who their target audience is and they're the same audience that makes fetish furry porn of Pokemon and sexy Bowsette OCs.

This remake was never going to be on the original level, the first trailer made it obvious. It's a sidegrade or a downgrade visually overall, and there are no actual gameplay tweaks. The Vivian troonshit is trash but it's only like 2 lines and crossdrosser is already pretty degenerate. Troons rejoicing is always disgusting but it wont last long. It'll be impossible to discuss this game anymore, though.

On the bright side, it might sell better than TOK and bring TTD (Total Tanabe Death).

I remember the girl bomb in the first Paper Mario being pretty useful all throughout the story, but I feel like Bobbery loses his oomph in the late game.

If that actually happens, I'd be laughing super hard, but mainly with the RPG Mechanics since I could take it or leave it with how Paper Mario 64 and TTYD handled thier RPG Elements as is.
