The cope is unbearable

Yeah, MrMemeyagi, how dare someone relay something true.
I'm not convinced Imholte reported it (he mightve), but so what if he did? You're supposed to keep secrets like that? Fuck that noise. Tell the world. Or better yet, tell someone who can get things happening.
These people are capital-r Retarded. Sick.
From his post he might believe that apologizing is the same as admitting guilt which could weaken his case. I think he's said something like that before.
On one hand, that's a fair point. Best to say nothing. On the other, it conveniently aligns with a brain-dead selfish druggie's way of getting through life. It's practical but not sympathetic. And "trust me, don't believe the hype" would be sad if it weren't so offensive.
You realize he wasn't home when they came knocking?
That child had been told not to let cops in the house, whether that day or in general. No kid not exposed to this kind of shit or told what to do is going to face down a bunch of cops or do anything without getting their mom.
As dumb as it is for Nick to stream about this right now. ...
Nick may suggest the hard drugs were Aprils. Nick seemed confused during the hearing that she was cut loose and her credit cards were found with the drugs.
The additional charges could be explained away as prescribed medication and legally owned guns that the state was using to pad charges. Also, the whole cops lie thing.
Some of it may be true, suspect Nick to be arrogant enough to try to spin it.
i laughed so hard when he was told she'd been released. The look. He lost the influence he had over her as her "lawyer."
Without a doubt. A Priest is a shepard of his flock. When Rekieta went astray, bet your ass the Priest knew. I even bet he took the time to watch the drunk streams. Because that is his job. He's not just there to spout rote scripture. He's there to make sure the members of the congregation can journey to the Kingdom of Heaven. In the case of a parishoner who goes fully astray, they become an almost pet project. I bet the Priest even watched the Pill Stream and sent another message to the Police after that which was left unmentioned because it would have made the State look incompetent if it took a Priest shrieking at them TWICE to go batter down a door.
The only way the Priest sold out Rekieta is if he became convinced he was endangering his children, who were also a part of his flock and thus deserving of his care and intervention. This is very much an allowable breach of the otherwise separation of Church and State. Because at the end of the day the Children are just as much a part of the Communion of Christ as their parents, and when the parents have become possessed of evil and endanger their lives and souls the Church must use what tools are available to save them. Which includes notifying the civil authorities.
Which is why I find JuJu the Cows "God sold out Nick Rekieta" tweet repugnant on a visceral level. God didn't sell out Nick Rekieta. God saved his children.
No one sold anyone out. You do shit, you get caught, that's your fault for doing shit. No one owes you protection for doing bad things.
Send me the rainbows but there is the possibility of a massive redemption arc here. If I were Nick, here is what I would do to try and salvage my future:
- Make arrangements for my parents to take my kids for 60-90 days.
- Go to a reputable in-patient rehab facility.
He lives literally a couple of hours from the best known rehab in the country (Hazelden Betty Ford).
- The only stream until rehab is complete would be on the way to the facility. Apologize, promise to try your best to get sober and come back to Lawsplaining when sober.
- Complete rehab (the hardest part).
- Once back home, jump right into an interesting trial that is starting and live stream the whole thing. In the down time tell amusing anecdotes about getting sober.
- Stop night streaming and stream instead during the day, or in the evening.
- Settle with Montagraph
- Profit ... enough to help pay for the incoming legal bills and Montograph's settlement.
He could come out of this. At this point I would say he has a good 30% chance of getting through this with his family in tact, but he has to come to Jesus first.
Completing rehab is nbd. People do it all the time, especially after an arrest like this. Because omg what have I done I'm desperate and maybe this will help my case. They don't stick with it long. And with a habit as big as 26 fucking grams of coke around for funsies, it will take a lot more than having someone to fight to bring him to his knees. Clearly, based on his post this afternoon/evening.
Any lawyers here? Would fessing up, pleading for mercy, and going to rehab help his case?
That seems like the responsible thing to do as a Dad. But would the justice system bend you over harder for doing that. Not sure what the play is on denying the possession.
Sadly, it's kind of a dumb thing to do. What you want is an actual lawyer who can negotiate something for you before you plead to anytjing. Going to rehab can be a sympathetic point, some sense of reckoning and responsibility, but he's obviously not thinking that way.
It's like Nick named the boys and Kayla named the girls.
She's dumber than a box of rocks so it tracks.
They are both dumber than a box of rocks. Nick just has enough glibness to pass as semi-sentient.
