That's the thing about mandatory reporting. It's mandatory. If you are aware of information and don't report it, you start to take on liability. I personally know of a high school principal that ended his career and wound up in civil court for not relaying a report of sexual assault to the proper authorities. Similar shit happened to Joe Paterno's crew at Penn State. Why would the pastor jeopardize himself, his family, and his congregation so Nick Rekieta can do drugs, commit adultery, and neglect his children?

In fairness, the lack of cases was because he hit on the lolsuit way too early and then almost never needed to do much law ever again.

Nah, he opened a little law office and tried to practice for a few years but it didn’t go as he expected. It sounds like he managed to piss off or alienate the local law community by being an arrogant, picked petty fights, was disrespectful to other lawyers. They didn’t seem to immediately appreciate his genius or attitude.

I know Nick went to law school at bit later than usual after some attempts at some other lines of work, but most attorneys are hitting their stride between 35-40. Nick couldn’t manage a store front solo practice.

The fact he was bored and didn’t have much of a law practice to occupier his time (and a wealthy family to ensure he didn’t have to actually work) meant he had lots of extra time to play with Dick and the Maddox drama and start spending an inordinate amount of time in edgy internet stuff. The Maddox lawsuit gave him and in to start actually using his law degree for something he enjoyed, internet antics and drama.

Okay, I think I see a plausible scenario that makes Nick's behavior during the arrest (somewhat) justifiable:

• Nick is apprehended on the road.
• Traffic cop tells Nick that cops are at his house with a warrant and can't get in, needing the door code.
• Nick knows that Kayla is home and apparently won't let the cops in, so he refuses in turn, assuming that the traffic cop is lying about the warrant to circumvent his rights.
• Finally, Nick gets to the broken-in house and sees that the warrant is real. Throwing it to the ground is anger in part directed towards his wife who he now realizes should've let the cops in to begin with.

Only thing is he wasn't stopped in some traffic stop miles from home, they pulled him over on his fucking street, like literally just down the block from his house.
I'm betting the Pastor warned them he was a drunk, maybe violent, probably a junky, and he had guns in the house, with up to 5 kids present.
The Pastor knows Nick, its a small town, I wouldn't be surprised if the cops or someone knew he was a stubborn beligerant asshole.
They were executing a warrant for Child Endangerment, its not unusual in those circumstances for cops executing a warrant to watch the house and jump on the suspect when he is leaving so they don't risk a potentially unpredictable subject with access to firearms barricading himself when theres kids present.

This wasn't Nick being stopped miles from home, this was a co-ordinated bust, sounds like they waited for him to leave and picked him up down the street at the same time other officers went to the house to execute the warrant.

He put product in his hair for his debut on the center stage. He’s definitely lurking, which is common for those with the ex-con look. If Max Cady was a bottom. Not sure if he intentionally laid that wispy piece to the side or not, if he used mousse it would be able to hold it upwards. Regarding the future of the Racketsman, it all depends on how he sees his YouTube career and what he wants to do with going forward.

He could get himself sober and turn his life around, given the resources that life has given him. But that would require him to turn his back on his Internet fame and returning to the life of simple rural Minnesota lawyer. Because let's face it, his life as a respected lawtuber is done and over. Nobody goes to watch his streams to lawsplain, but watch the goulish shell of man utter incoherent babble in between his coke brakes. I doubt he could go back to the law streams, even if he wanted to.

Can he do? Maybe, but has most people suppose, it's really unlikely. It would involve admitting to his various weaknesses and that lawtube phase of his life has absolutely ruined him. I don't know if he could do that.

So what I think he going to do 1-3 streams somewhat sober, but realizing that can no longer do it without the booze, noose snow or Ku Klux Ketamine, he'll relapse and continue to spiral.

You don't know that the Pastor didn't try the "better options" before going to police. You don’t know that he didn't "nuke" the Rekietas only as a last resort. In fact, it's likely that that's exactly how it went down. The pastor most likely tried to resolve the obvious issues privately and within the congregation, and was shut down until he had no choice but to fulfill his LEGAL OBLIGATION to report CHILD NEGLECT.
