It's not worth it right now. Half the time the artificial penises don't won't, can get infected, and often times cant even urinate. It's easier for a transgirl to get bottom surgery than a transman.

With current surgical techniques transmen with bottom surgery can urinate out of their penis, but it doesn't get erect. And infection is is across the board with any type of surgery.

You can with some, it all depends which type you get, but there's no option where you can have everything with current medtech. Lower surgery's actually a lot further on than most people think, but it's still not great. So it's understandable that a ftm character would follow most trans guys and not have it, still no excuse for the weird fetish shit though.

It doesn't have to be phalloplasty necessarily (which gives an average sized dong but requires a lot of surgery and skin grafts), there's metoidioplasty too which would give you a tiny dick but is generally cheaper and much simpler, and it can get erect on its own. There's some new phallo techniques that can get erect with muscle control too, but mostly they use pumps like they do with old guys with ED. People can have their own opinions but bottom surgery is often described as still being as bad as in the 90s and that hasn't been my experience at all, to be honest.
Obviously bottom surgery is rarer than not but I just find it interesting that no one's even remotely interested in exploring the topic. I guess FtMs stop being hot once they look like cis men so they don't need to be "represented" anymore!
