We have nine or ten officers on the ground, two or so hours of footage minimum, that's at least 20 hours just to watch them, plus whatever they have to do to privacy/redact. 50/60 hours is entirely reasonable. Even just doing a top & tail tightening or removing dead air can take 3-4x the length of the clip you're working with.

This is not a "drag files from storage onto a CD" type request.

People who've had to manually edit footage like this know how time consuming it can be. Unless they're using plug-ins to automate part of the process (which I doubt they're able to use considering the nature of the censorship), then it's going to take awhile. It's not hard work to add a blur, mask it to the protected individual's face, and keyframe it to ensure they're censored the whole time, but it takes time.

Especially when you have to comply with privacy laws and specific guidelines.

When Nick saw the search warrant he knew immediately all of this was going to happen. I’m sure that’s why he had a panick attack and threw it on the ground. Search warrant > body cams > FOIA > an open look into his life behind the scenes. As soon as he saw the warrant all of it hit him at once. I won’t be surprised if he makes a petition with the court to suppress the footage until after the trial (at the very least) or permanently (in his most optimistic hopes and dreams).

Once a record is made public, there's nothing stopping the dissemination. The more patient, will get it for free.

There's almost 0 chance someone hasn't paid. And saying that "this works like all other requests for information" makes no sense, because the FBI sorted through thousands of documents, redacted them, and sent me 700 of them on a CD completely free of charge. I didn't even have to pay for shipping, and I can absolutely guarantee 100% without a doubt not a single other person on the planet requested these documents before me.

Data pulls, typically cannot be charged for. There are exceptions such as archival records or records requiring a massive job that chews up CPU cycles. Typically, the query or chron job is written and all that needs to be changed is variables like date, time, incident number etc.

I had queries and some server jobs written that would pull only data selected for public facing responses and you can even have certain fields redacted in documents via data processing by field/column. Manual redaction is not difficult nor would it defeat the threshold for cost recovery, especially in run sheets.

I could mill it, I also have a MarkForged metal 3D printer at work. I could cast print it in tool steel if had to. It'd chew up the barrel though.

Some come into rehab with acceptance of their problem but lack of self control. Others are like Nick who puts up every ounce resistance possible. Usually the first step is getting a lawyer to sit them down and tell them the reality of their situation. This normally is enough to break them. Unfortunately for Nick, he has Viva and Barnes ruining the easiest chance of breaking his narcissistic spirit so it's going to be an uphill battle for him.

I'm pretty certain divorce is the only path forward. If you GENUINELY want recovery, you have to cut everyone who facilitated your addiction out of your life. No holds barred for family and spouses. This especially rings true if your enabler is your spouse. Your chances of recovery are practically non-existent in those scenarios. They'll probably name each other as their biggest enablers in rehab. Divorce is inevitable at that point. Their lawyers probably will recommend divorce too, if they haven't already.

Nick still has low cunning in him as the arraignment showed. Would these places just let him tell them what they want to here, collect their checks, and let him go? I honestly don't know.
