From the way that TUG and Camelot were talking, I think its wrapped up in a potential strategy to invalidate the warrant in court.

a) The children were never in danger.
b) The fact that the police waited a week to raid Nick's house proves that they didn't care about the children anyway. If they cared about the children they would have gone in immediately.
c) Because of (a) and (b), the true purpose of the warrant was to execute an illegal search of Nick's house for drugs.

Therefore the warrant should be thrown out.

Therefore Nick is completely innocent.

I would guess that this is what all of Nick's cryptic comments have been pointing towards about us not knowing the "real facts".

Something people miss. Sean touched on it. There are 2 other simultaneous investigations ongoing. Or rather 1 alternate investigation that could land in 2 different court paths (or both). CPS is involved. Their investigation into child neglect will almost certainly be a matter before the Juvenile and Family Court.
