It's important to remember that Washington and the boys didn't just wake up one day and start zippin' redcoats over a tea tax. They initially didn't want to break away from Britain. They were standing up for their rights as Englishmen, and tried to remedy the situation peacefully.
All those things you mentioned are latter-day Intolerable Acts. There may yet still be time to salvage the Republic. But the day of "nut up or shut up" draws ever nearer.

I've given up warning my supposed side that they're literally crafting the new dictator they feared with every one of these new impositions they demand. Had Trump been ignored back in 2016, he either wouldn't have been president, or would have been an unremarkable one who spent most of his time painting airforce one and making statues. They made this situation. They created this monster, and even if they manage to defeat Trump, they won't defeat the one who follows him.

This is distinctly different from serious monotheistic religion in a certain respect: in Catholicism for example belief in magic is pagan simply because it implies there can be a power outside of God, the ultimate reality.
