The autistic boy has a perfect solution for every problem? Especially because he's so intune with feelings of others? Come on. I get wanting to show autistic kids in okey light but this is just bad because it goes directly against what sort of things happens around autistic kids. Those kids tend struggling making friends for good reasons.

Autistic people are often incredibly blind to their behavior, have hard time understanding others and are black and white in their thinking. They get hyper focused on their intrests, problems and wants to the point that they get meltdowns when things don't go like they supposed to. They need to be told directly about many things that any normal idiot will pick up automatically and so tend to come across as rude and uncaring. They get overwhelmed by normal stimulation and can't handle changes especially in short term well.

Someone with those challenges just isn't going to be a go to a great problem solver and definitely not the emphatic power house. They can be a great fit for a walking info dumb, noticing something small isn't right, a scardy cat or someone who calls out when other kids go too far early. Basically you are going to have go for unpleasant but having enough redeeming qualities so other kids tolerate them.

I actually would avoid trying to write an autistic characters. You are kinda locking yourself up. It's better idea just to have a characters with autistic symptoms that you can just do whatever is most fitting for the story rather than having to worry if you are or are not authentically autistic enough.
