Lord Frogmire Appreciation Thread - The Better Brother (Formerly Known as Synthetic Man Appreciation Thread) - Might have an account here

This is a common argument I've seen in Synthetic Man's comment section as well as in the comment section of other right wing gaming channels from leftists.

They say it's silly/ignorant to say modern gaming is political/woke and to then idealize older generations of games as being apolitical or non woke.
I'll give the leftists this, most people on the e-"right" critically view media very differently if it was released after they became aware of things. Its reasonable to analyze media differently after a change in worldview. No matter your social/political stances we're all a product of our time. References to hotbutton issues in media from the late 90s are less likely to elicit a strong emotional stance than references to current events in contemporary media.
For example, Fallout 2, you play as a tribesman fighting the US government (which includes them wanting to commit genocide on the planet's population) which is an allegory for Indigenous Americans vs the European US government. Obviously a right wing or even apolitical developer wouldn't do a plot like this. Tim Cain being gay and left wing is often brought up to reinforce this point too. Other examples of this in Fallout would be the criticism of Capitalism as well as allowing gay relationships in Fallout NV.
I disagree that a right wing or apolitical creative wouldn't do this kind of plot. The basic narrative(as you put it) isn't right or left wing. Evil empire attempts to wipe out weaker, more primitive culture's way of life. You can find similar stories in the Old Testament, hardly a leftist work of literature. In the context of modern American politics? Sure, a liberal would be more likely to write this. But if you're going to zoom in on modern times you should consider that indian affairs are a much less contentious issue now than in say the late 1800s. Of course people will react less emotionally to a less socially relevant reference.
Another example, a lot of leftists say GTA San Andreas criticizes police brutality and GTA 4 and 5 has a lot of on the nose left wing political satire that you find on the internet and radio in game for example in GTA 5, they say that Republicans make the US unlivable to illegals don't want to move there.
I never got the impression that GTA pushed a grand leftist narrative. Anti-establishment sure, and it makes sense that faux-90s LA would reference police brutality( I've hardly played the game so idk how they approach it). Most terminally online political people will admit that anti-establishment 'fight the man' messages don't always go hand in hand with hardcore leftist ideology. I don't think you pretend all self-proclaimed anti-establishment ideas are the same. The liberal need for perpetual revolution is alot more obnoxious once they've taken over as 'the man' and started enforcing a strict party line.
In Elder Scrolls, Leftists also say Vivec in Morrowind was non binary or transgender
Did he identify as either of those things? Leftists love to retroactively apply their ideology to characters/people who had no conception of their belief system. They get it from their Marxist daddies retroactively deciding the root of all human conflicts were class struggles.
Metal Gear Solid is often brought up in relation to this point as well, the series is overtly political/"woke" yet from the leftists pov the right wing game is oblivious/ignorant to it.
Like others said Kojima is a hack pulling together western ideas. without knowing them past the most surface level. The biggest semi-coherent thought I get from the MGS series is 'MIC bad'. Not really a super "woke" idea unless you're perpetually rebelling against 2003 neo-cons/libs. E-right people usually associate "woke" with cultural marxism(as they understand it).

Getting back to my first point. You can easily play older games today without picking up on socio-political themes and ideas. Newer games, not so much. This meme:

lives rent free in leftist heads. They can't allow you to be the guy that doesn't get it and simply enjoys media, so they need to ramp it up and beat you over the head.

Something I'd like to push for Synth to play is this:

Female protag, I know. But from the demos, trailers, and other promos it doesn't look like they're actively engaging in woke shit. 🤞

Why are they going after your review? Did the video get shared on Reddit?
If it was, I wasn't made aware of it. But the comments started racking up real fast, so either someone has a crystal ball or there's something else going on.

I did use those YouTube hashtags. Maybe I hit the algorithm just right?

Isn't that the tranny game? I remember the dev running away from RPG Codex when they noticed the trans flag colors and started asking questions. Plus the voice actress is a hardcore BLM/Antifa type.

@Cheeseknife God damn those bot comments are not even hiding the fact they're bots. The astroturfing is obvious and prevalent. I really have to wonder how many people are slop eaters and and many are actual bots, not just on this video but in every video. It really shows how much of a dying tribe (hehe) actual Fallout fans are in the face of overwhelming normie odds. Best stick together as much as you can, show people the light and banish the dark when possible, because normies don't stick around forever.

You know this people can go and delete the bots comments in their comment section. It is not hard

If it is a raid all you need to do is delete the comments and ban the users to thwart the raid for good. It is what Synth did in the Second Fallout video which makes the comment section much more pleasant.

Is RPG codex chudpilled?

Is RPG codex chudpilled?
(Haven't read most of the newer replies yet so I'll just reply to this) It's pretty good, one of the few bastions of the old internet left. I've seen some people say it's a bit too edgy so either I'm such a massive edgelord that I'm more edgy than RPG Codex or I haven't seen it/it's not that edgy. Lurked there for years so it's either/or. It upsets Redditors greatly so that's a plus if ever I've seen it.

Is it just me or is Synthetic Man being targeted more frequently these days, I've noticed that after his reviews of the Fallout TV show in particular the amount of far leftist clowns making non stop response videos to his content has massively increased, he must have triggered these fags a bit more than usual to be getting this kind of attention lately.

It's pretty chudpilled, but they're also like most gamer consoomers in that if you appeal to their tastes, they'll ignore wokeshit. For example, they voted BG3 #2 GOTY even though you'd think RPGCodex of all places would burn that game to the ground for being shallow and half-baked in both story and gameplay once you get past the first act. But because it's D&D a bunch of them kneeled to the rainbow.

It got #2 instead of #1 because the other half of the forum that took the GOTY survey purposefully rated BG3 low so I guess it's not totally pozzed. It's also not that great for discussion if you're not obsessed with WRPGs, D&D, or old school Fallout. The other subforums for genres that aren't for WRPG beards aren't nearly as active.

Accurate, for a recent example The Wayward Realms is not nearly as talked about some shit I never heard of called Skald but because it looks like akin to the "DnD style" and the launch trailer has that 90's aesthetic they were all over that. Which is also funny since Wayward Realms has that "DnD style" better, like a digital version of old editions, hell TES started off as someone's DnD campaign put into video game format. But like you said there's still some activity in the other parts of the forum so if you see something you like you should definitely interact with it and bump it up.

You're a bit late my friend, but you're still correct. Amazon payed out a lot with bots that go after every negative video on the show, plus the Bethesda brainrot inflicted "fans" of Fallout that'll ree at anyone not slurping the slop, so much so that they'll actively search for even the lowest viewed videos and then signal boost it so other "fans" see it and go after the video. Just a theory at least. This behavior has existed for a while of course but it's just a lot more noticeable now, the dead internet theory has more and more support behind it than ever.

Pissing off Reddit is always a seal of approval. I like using RPG HQ which is also pretty chudpilled but uses an older forum interface:
