A good time for a reminder that after receiving an influx of people from Yaba, she used to get decent views, money and attention on it. Some of her viewers liked her. Hell, some even believed she looked like her profile picture. On her previous channel birthday, she was on a way to 10k. 700+ live viewers regularly. There were quite a few in the community who feared her. But just like with her legal activities, she got the impression she was good at politics and burned it all down.
Sam has essentially prohibited herself from streaming about anything her regulars could enjoy. An unsuccessful rebrand or two. Dramatically leaving the Internet, only to be back a few hours later. Her latest great idea of reading comments about Amberlynn Reid didn't even make it to 400 live viewers. Ugly tumblers don't seem to be a big hit. Agreed with (1) and (2), and I think Yaba's telling on herself (big surprise, I know). Yaba's been throwing around the novelist insult since Xmas. I think it reveals (at least) 2 points: (1) how Yaba feels about her content (possibly her audience), (2) how Yaba feels about others' content.

Yaba will never put effort into her channel (she sort of did in the early days with her OGDC "sketches," and she sort of tried with the occasional vlog and the aborted "grift" series -- and I'll always be fond of the "just going home" music video). She simply lacks the education and motivation to do more than turn on the camera and talk until she gets bored. Her channel is essentially a morning radio program, minus the traffic (but with the weather in Kuwait).

And she's been well rewarded for it. She doesn't think much of Chantal's content, so she falls back on the same talking points and catch phrases.

You could, I think, train an AI to run her channel at this point: I appreciate you, hon; [MONTH] babies are the best; pickle-/sugar-foot; I love it so much; [SEAL/DOG BARK LAUGH]; [BIRTHDAY MUSIC]; awww, get to feelin' better, hon; [KENNEL COUGH]; one with the sea; deluxe fart box; I'm so sorry about your [LIFE-CHANGING EVENT, NEG], hon....

And I believe her when she says she wouldn't do it for free, because she doesn't care, apart from the income and the related attention. She made that very clear during her suspension.

I remember being shocked several years ago when one morning she played Toad's Foodie Beauty documentary from beginning to end. I can't recall if she asked Toad for permission. Then again, a lot of reactors have done the same thing with Snowflake's videos (TBF, they always make sure to wait 24 hours "so he gets his views"). In Yaba's mind, though, at least they're creating something to monetize.

The Farms' novelists on the other hand? Doing it for free? Psychos. Putting in any kind of effort? Freaks. I'm not sure they'd be any happier had, say, the Sam saga been converted into a Geno Samules-/Cecil McFly-style documentary, but I think they'd understand it better (what with pictures and all)... before nuking it, ha ha. And I've heard the boredom in Yaba's voice when Sam (who at least gets granular with things) would analyze Ron's shop or want to discuss Mr. and Mrs. ATX. Degenerate.

Here's hoping, for Yaba's sake, Chantal moves back to Canada, starts up again with Nader, and everything's just as it was 2+ years ago. Otherwise, she may be stuck with us and (some of) our novels, ha ha.
