I've heard other people saying something like this now that he's gotten a boost in polls and massive amounts of donations.
They think he's now "playing the victim" and "crying oppression" and pardoning him will take that ability away and suddenly lose him all support.
Just like everything else they've done that was guaranteed to take away his entire voterbase overnight...

In layman's terms, it was NEVER about the Constitution. It's about getting one over the other party whatever it takes. Now, the objective is to stop Trump by any means necessary. I'm not a history expert, but I'm willing to bet a week's pay that if the founding fathers were alive to see how American politicians have spat on those documents, heads would LITERALLY ROLL down the Capitol building.
The anti-gun laws in several blue cities are unconstitutional down to the T, if one would be knowledgable enough TO KNOW that sacred document inside and out. It's a power trip against their own citizens.

it sort of can, most of what people are taught is from their history teachers and most people who read "a People's history" don't question it, then there's other stuff like not making connections because history is told in arcs or story form so you never realize that Harvey Milk's death happened the same week as the jonestown massacre and might have been tied into it. they've been able to time and time again change people's reality by tripling down on nonsense, its literally gotten us into wars and turned a Floyd into a christ like hero.
A semi-good example i use is socialists obsession with The Sopranos, the only reason they reference it so much is because Nick Mullen on a 2016 episode of Chapo talked about how good the show was and boom, now one of the most watched shows when it aired suddenly became a niche thing for cool commie people, pretty much every person i see do italian impressions now is some trans rights fag because the top dogs a decade ago on a podcast decided "actually the sopranos was all about how capitalism is bad" and while people in niche forums might call it out, most people won't and can't see through the lies. Think about it like A Series of Unfortunate Events, the count gets away with the most bullshit disguises because no one would question him.
