The ads were instream, not part of twitch. Only the person running OBS has control over it.

The consequence of prematurely making every dispute a culture war thing is that psychologically well adjusted people will see it and think "oh it's one of those fucking things" and scroll past.

Flinging accusations of persecution for a third party before having any solid evidence is attention seeking behavior. Phase does not need Kirsche, Lawtube, or right wing anime Twitter to bat for them and it reeks of self promotion.

I have some sympathy for Offkai, since it's a pretty tiny con (<3k?) relative to anime cons in mid-tier cities that can pull >10k.
The guest list is also made up of way bigger internet celebrities than washed-up voice actors at most cons.
Not too surprised that tech issues plague them, since hosting vtubers is much more demanding than a few people on a desk.

I'm also not convinced that a vtuber convention is actually that beneficial to the guests. Vtuber events at normal conventions is a nice way of pulling anime/manga fans deeper into the weeb rabbithole, but everyone at offkai already watches vtubers.

Maybe some numberfag can do a Mendelian randomization on subs of Offkai guests lul.

I've been to smaller (in attendance) vtuber centric cons in Japan with more streamer appearances than Offkai that have managed to pull off a smooth landing. Run by volunteers too, just more experienced and competent ones. Offkai doesn't have an excuse because each con has been worse than the one before it, on a technical level. They have had the same venue for three years and they can't figure out how to run an event without completely ruining the schedule.

These guys suck hard and can't be trusted for anything important like a 3D debut or concert.

even without adblock the stream is still visable during twitch ads, it just gets thrown to the top right corner and the audio from the stream muted while the main screen plays ads.

The new wave is banning anything that people find "problematic " and Pippa and Kriche ( or whatever her name is) are easy targets by those types because the fans are uh.. Of the Clownfish variety.

The same people would try to get Calli banned if they could too but that would never happen because of the Holo clout and the money that comes with that.

I really want to see Offkai try to bar Calli from the event and then send that old compilation of (Probably fake) tweets of her saying Nigga and Nig on her demondice account, would be very funny to see that conversation back and forth.
