I have some sympathy for Offkai, since it's a pretty tiny con (<3k?) relative to anime cons in mid-tier cities that can pull >10k.
The guest list is also made up of way bigger internet celebrities than washed-up voice actors at most cons.
Not too surprised that tech issues plague them, since hosting vtubers is much more demanding than a few people on a desk.
I'm also not convinced that a vtuber convention is actually that beneficial to the guests. Vtuber events at normal conventions is a nice way of pulling anime/manga fans deeper into the weeb rabbithole, but everyone at offkai already watches vtubers.
Maybe some numberfag can do a Mendelian randomization on subs of Offkai guests lul.
