Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

He massacred an entire McDonalds because his McNuggets 10-pack only had 6 nuggets inside.

Exactly. That's why you have series like the KOTOR/SWTOR stuff and the New Jedi Order books. Although, to be fair, the latter kinda pissed off the fans too, if anything because they thought it got too dark, whereas KOTOR/SWTOR media just had the appropriate amount of darkness and light-hearted comedy. Yes, you have the grimdark atmosphere and feel with the Sith and everything they touch, but outside of that, you have humorous things here and there, like Bastila getting flustered with male Revan's taunting, the Bounty Hunter in SWTOR making a Jedi look like an idiot for using a mind trick, and the entire Smuggler SWTOR story.
How did baras stay powerful if he was so obese

Would Star Wars benefit if it shifted away from being a brand that is mostly childish and embraced its adult audience more. Gen alpha doesn't care about star wars but gen xers millenials and older gen z do. Why not appeal to the audience that actually cares for your product.
That's what the novels and video games did, but those veins of support eventually dried up. The novel audience dried up because of NJO and LOTF driving away many novel fans, and the game fans eventually had burnout because despite SWTOR having its good spots, it wasn't enough to garner the full support of the SW gamer audience who would've preferred a direct sequel to KOTOR 2 instead of an MMO. The shutdown of SW Galaxies was also a sore spot, as was the cancellation of other projects that fans eagerly anticipated, like Republic Commando 2 and Battlefront 3.

Anger gives you great power in the Dark Side.

I agree with you. But I personally feel like a lot of those issues werent inherit to star wars being more mature but instead star wars having bad management. I wish swtor scaled back on the class stories so it could improve other aspects like plot. I would have scaled the stories to 2 classes at launch the sith and the jedi with the idea of gradually introducing more classes. I would have emphasized the story aspects much more in swtor by having the game play more like fallout or skyrim than a regular mmo and that means more smaller factions that you could do quests with and a reputation system.

I know my rant sounds autistic and dumb but my actual points would have improved swtor

The Ewoks were pretty gay in RotJ but minus that its a good film and a great trilogy bookend. Of course it was even better before Lucas went and fucked with it. Anyone assmad about RotJ has garbage NPC tastes.
my uncle has this funny story he likes to tell about how when RotJ came out, my dad was the only person on the planet who told people it sucked when it was new and he didn't even think so. my pop and him rode their bikes up to see it at midnight or some shit opening night, and my dad was like 14/15 or something and my uncle was 12. and the whole movie my dad didn't say anything and kept shushing my uncle and just stared at the movie, and cried in the end when Vader unmasks and has his final conversation with Luke. and then they got on their bikes to go home and my dad was saying "what was with those bears kicking stormtroopers asses? that was fag shit that movie sucked" and my uncle was like "man, you were fucking crying like a little girl the last half hour what are you talking about fag shit?" and my dad just beat the shit out of him when they got home. anytime I hear anyone rambling about RotJ I just think about that and laugh. I guess my dad told all his friends it sucked after and my uncle was like no it doesn't suck he just cries at movies. lol

Trinity dies five minutes into the first episode of Acolyte. The fight scene is decent but a few shots look a bit wonky.

This cope about star wars being mature is fucking retarded. It was never mature. It was always intended for younger audiences. The fact that it had some mature themes/scenes and was easily enjoyed by adults is simply down to George and Team knowing that kids aren't little retards who can't handle the bad guy winning or the good guy losing. I do not understand how you can watch the OT and think it wasn't clearly intended for children first and foremost. Not to mention thinking star wars used to be more mature means you're willfully ignoring the fact that it was children who were responsible for it becoming a massive success.

It's okay to acknowledge that our gay space opera was aimed at kids and it just so happens to have had deeper themes adults could enjoy. But again, that's down to Lucas and Co. not treating children like literal babies.
And yes, even the EU and the video games were still aimed at children and/or young adults.

Fuck just look at the PT. You wanna try and act like the PT wasn't aimed at kids despite how dark it got? Cause it certainly got a hell of a lot darker than the OT did considering our heroes lose for 3 movies in a row.

Wanting SW to be more mature is like when people want a gritty pokemon game. Retarded.

I completly disagree with you gritier star wars can be done pretty well. I would recomend playing swtor and kotor along with reading the comic series about zayne carrick.

SW is mature in the same way that young adult novels are mature. It's made to get kids into more mature topics, like how ANH was about overcoming overwhelming odds by putting your faith in a literal higher power, or how ROTS is about how democracy gets subverted because people are stupid and make stupid decisions, which allows subversives to take advantage of certain opportunities. Faith in a higher power and democracy being subverted aren't things you'd see in kids' media, but it's wrapped up in things kids want so that those concepts can be introduced to them.

And yes, there's certain parts of the SWEU not made for kids. Try to get a kid to play KOTOR 2 and he's going to get really lost, not just gameplay-wise, but also why his supposedly optimistic kids' sci-fi series suddenly opens with dead people everywhere like it's a haunted mansion. Force Unleashed is made for teens. Most of the novels are made for young adults. And the later seasons of TCW is definitely not kid-friendly, especially as the characters people got to know and love start dropping like flies. Imagine showing TCW to a young girl and she starts to identify with Duchess Satine, only to see her get gutted by Maul in Season 5 of the show. That would traumatize her.
