Is it a fact that he could have freely left the country? I remember following this after his first arrest and getting the sense he definitely wasn't allowed to leave. I could be totally wrong here, just wanting some clarification.

>retard talks shit
>government gets offended and asks him to leave
>he still talks shit
>government asks him again, gives him passport
>he still talks shit
>government gets so offended they kill him
He was breaking the law in Ukraine, and he was imprisoned for it. This isn't even a matter of whether the law was just or not. If you do what CRP did in Ukraine you will be jailed for it. Why did CRP deserve special treatment compared to you or I?

I'd hope whether or not I got effective consular assistance wouldn't depend on whether I was a retarded right wing grifter or a black athlete smuggling dope. Especially in a country we've thrown $100 billion of foreign aid at, with no end in sight to the gigantic grift.

According to the Ukrainians. Forgive me for not trusting the Salami Ukelele brigade to be honest brokers about what CRP did or didn't do.

Exactly. If your country won't fight to protect you as best as it can because of your politics, that's utterly fucked up.

CRP was an attention whore who latched on to anything he thought would raise his profile. He latched onto that economist, latched onto "the redpill movement", latched onto IBS, latched onto Putin. His swindling finally caught up to him and he died of health issues as an aged man due to poor prison conditions. He's like Napoleon, but shit. Napoleon could have retired on Elba, but he just had to keep trying and so he died in a soggy cabin in the middle of the atlantic ocean. Such is the fate of men with high ambitions who fall short of reaching them.

Putin only sent his best spetsnaz to do the real work of converting the west. To think he might not have gotten Ralph to drop the gunt on camera before his extraction was completed! I know he's still alive and on the most secret mission ever: grooming some Taiwanese girl to prep the Chinese invasion operation.

You're not wrong. Your government should help out. But the US government wants to fund the proxy war against Russia as much as Ukraine wants the money, so obviously the US weren't eager to do much for CRP. Any directive to help CRP more than the bare minimum of providing him a list of local lawyers would have had to come from the top down because I doubt any mid-level management in the state department would risk their career advancement by proactively helping someone who was publicly undermining the state department's agenda. I'm not saying any of that is right, it's just the way the world works. He really should have called himself coach blue pill if he didn't understand that.
You're also right about the preferential treatment the basketball American received. It shouldn't be that way. But as I said previously CRP made the mistake of not being a black lesbian during the gayest US administration in history.
I guess my point is more CRP shouldn't have expected preferential treatment and given most of us aren't WNBA players we'd get close to the same number of chances he got for fucking around.

"The communists do it too" is not really the argument you think it is
I’m sure it’s not, because that’s not my argument at all.

You stated:
I cannot think of a single example where "most people" would get killed by the government for talking shit. In most places you have late night shows where they talk shit about the government 24/7
I gave you two very big examples since you couldn’t think of a single one. I have plenty more if you need them.

You seem to mistakenly believe “most places” operate like western countries. The west only makes up 14% of the world’s population. The remaining 86% of the world’s population is generally not able to talk shit, or watch people talk shit about their govt, on late night TV shows or online.

War would also completely alter the rules for media and censorship even in the west. Censorship and propaganda are considered vital to war efforts in the west and everywhere else. The US Supreme Court ruled the govt could restrict speech more during times of war.

Also do you think Russia is communist?Pretty sure communism ended there thirty years ago and one could easily argue the same for the “capitalism on steroids” of modern China. But me pointing to Putin’s brutal media censorship isn’t an example of “commies doing it.”

A lot of people seem to be mistaking that what happened to CRP was very foreseeable and laughing about his stupidity requires thinking what happened to him was right. It wasn't right. He didn't deserve that much punishment. But he was obviously dumb to provoke a response most reasonable people could predict and that makes it funny for some people.
If your risk avoidance strategy in a shithole country that's at war is: "I'm going to talk shit publicly on behalf of the invaders and if I get jailed for it I'm going to hope the fed glowniggers (who also hate the invaders) move heaven and hell to bail my dumb ass out" that to me is more funny than it is anything else.

"But the communists and shithole countries don't have this"
Yes, and I am obviously not talking about those countries.

Using shitholes and commies as a basis for your comparisons to what should be done in a modern society is a horrible standard.

Just because they dressed communism up in some nice clothes and modernized it doesn't make it anything less. Russia has "elections" where anyone who gains serious political power gets assassinated, but it doesn't declare itself communist so "communism ended there 30 years ago".

China's main party is literally called the Chinese Communist Party.

And the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) is obviously really a democratic republic because of its name. China is not currently communist in any real sense of the word, although it took Maoist Communism to get where it is. It's not even really capitalist either. It's at best a state mercantilist despotism.

Really it should be nuked off the face of the planet, not for being communist, but for being what it actually is.

If CRP’s death causes an international incident then the forum must shut down because nothing will ever top that.
Depending on how you define 'incident' it's already at that level. I'd put it about at the time it got brought up in a white house presser.
