Was anyone else turned off/annoyed by Nick as a YT personality since the beginning and now feels super vindicated?
Yes, I thought it was strange that a lawyer was spending all this time on lolcow junk since the Vic Lasagna saga and proudly drinking well into the night while selling himself as a proud religious family man. If this guy is a poster child for the right... well, he's kind of proving what leftists assume right-wingers are.

I didn't expect this sudden and drastic of a downfall, though.

You can search by live and everything is still (mostly) there.
Yep.

The "video" tab no longer has live streams (that's the live tab) just the uploaded videos.

I wasn't annoyed, just confused why people watched him. From the few streams I caught, he seemed like the type to dip his toes in a dozen topics and not know a fucking thing about any of them. I guess that made him good background noise for some people? Any feelings of vindication I get are from him being revealed to be the charlatan that my gut instinct said he was, not just as a legal expert, but his entire persona and supposed interests. I detest people like him, the nothing-men of the world who think being around something or coveting its symbols makes them meaningful in turn. Even his greatest triumph, the trial coverage, was built off the back of the personalities and legal experts actually conducting these trials, and I think he knew this given his subsequent self-destruction and resentment of what made him successful. Unless they're low-IQ, successful people who put in no effort know they're getting away with robbery and it hurts. Seeing how he then tried to turn his streaming into being about himself and his comedy told me all I needed to know about him. He wanted to be successful in his own right, and that's maybe the one shred of humanity I'll attribute to him. But that turns to pity as you see what 'him' really entailed: a sad, vacuous character with nothing to offer society or even his family.

For anyone who was hoodwinked, I would suggest considering this about the people you watch or admire: in their work and life, what is it they are fundamentally doing? I'm no Josh fanboy, but I see and respect how he is constantly busting his ass to maintain this forum and stave off legal threats. Rekieta might've been a 'comfy' streamer for awhile, but his 'job' was to blabber into the void about topics he was vaguely informed on. That was a constant from then until now, it's only that the facade wore away over time.

Coffee sucks. It's the balldo of drinks.
The coffee plants tried really hard to make their seeds deadly to ingest and you're dishonoring them by not meeting them on the field of battle.
It isn't the Reiketa side of the family that is rich.
This is fundamentally untrue, the wealth that runs in Nick's family has been extensively documented down to lawsuits surrounding the IPO of the company that generated that wealth.

Edit: I had assumed @repentance was wrongly saying the wealth came from Kayla's side of the family, but he was correctly pointing out the wealth comes from Nick's mother's side of the family.

Sure. No argument at all. Methodologically, it definitely has its roots in the Frankfurt School and earlier Marxists like Gramsci. I'm just not sure it should be called Marxism any more given that they appear to have abandoned the economic system part. Particularly given how much the people who advocate this shit seem to loathe and detest the working class.

You have to look at their intellectual framework though. It’s pure Marxism, with the relentless focus on “oppression”.

As I say, people like Gramsci, Marcuse, Adorno, etc. laid out the methodology for cultural domination, but they've completely evacuated all of the political and economic features which are what makes Marxism Marxism.
Professors in Marxism call it Marxism, and that’s good enough for me I guess.

I totally understand your point though.

And just wanted to add that one of the reasons Adorno & co developed cultural Marxism was to explain the rejection of revolutionary violence by the working class, and the endurance of the capitalist/political system.

This was the main reason I listened to Nick before bottlegate. It was very easy to throw up a multi-hour long stream from the night before to play during work. It was nice to have an hours long comfortable stream with a variety of topics at least several times a week. I still haven't found a suitable replacement that scratches that same itch.

Can anyone explain to me why you Burgers carpet your floors? I'm getting a rash just thinking about everything that goes into it, especially if you have pets at home. At least with a rug you can roll it and take it to cleaners', with a carpet everything just gets caked into it.
It's worse than you think. There are some who carpet bathrooms.

Yes it is. Been extensively documented here.
I thought it was Nick's mother's side, and that is what the person was referring to as opposed to Bob Rekieta?

That is technically correct, his trust fund comes from Nick’s mother’s family (Louis and Peaches Owen) but what was said sounded like it came from Kayla’s family. Nick’s mother was a Rekieta when her family became rich.
