Bob has been bringing this up a lot lately as if it is some kind of own. "Why don't the CHUDS comment on sports the way they do media?"

Bob, sports commentary is pretty big online. Is it just as big as film reviewing. People livestream games and provided commentary on them. They do videos providing current analysis as well as videos doing historical deep dives. Sports fan commentary is also filled with plenty of rage and vitriol. Look at the infamous call in to a Chicago radio show that occurred last year when a fan went on a legendary rant about the state of the Chicago White Sox.

The difference between sports analysis and media analysis is that sports is a competition where a many different factors can impact the outcome. Injuries, poor play by players, bad luck. Some elements are completely out of your control. Even the better managed teams can be afflicted by these things. People are a lot more forgiving about sports because they understand this.

People have a different approach to art though because it is a more controlled environment where the quality is entirely dependent on the skill of those who are working on it. You are seeing more of an outrage culture form because people see the current industry, across all forms of media, for what it is: people who don't deserve to be working on projects are doing so anyway because of left-wing identity politics and that is leading to crap content being put out that companies expect people to pay for.

I also find that highlighted comment towards the beginning to be funny. Bob, a majority of sports teams in America are poorly run. That is why the vitriol that is present on the sports commentary scene exists in the first place: people see that their favorite franchises aren't putting their best foot forward but are still expecting fans to pay top dollar.

Look at what at the backlash that occurred in New York last year when the New York Jets, one of the most dysfunctional and least successful sports franchises in America, announced a steep ticket price hike for 2024.

A lot of sports fans out there know that they don't actually have what it takes to manage a sports franchise properly. They do however know that there are people out there who can do that, and they want their teams to actually invest in those people.
