In regards to Tuesday's stream re: addicts not recovering under the harm reduction bills, it's more than likely due to how the brain changes in response to drugs such as opioids. The way it was described to me in College is a lot of our hormones essentially interact with our brain in a lock and key method, however the way opioids and other drugs work is they just shove themselves into the lock not caring for how they fit. Overtime your brain can no longer accept any naturally produced hormones/neurotransmiters like serotonin and you have to get high to feel any sort of happiness.

My older sibling got hooked on a lot of hard stuff (heroin, pills) during time in College and the family essentially had to come to grips with the person we grew up with no longer existing. It really just changes their entire personality to just be about one thing. Hyper focusing endlessly and looking for anything to fill the void. Luckily no more drugs however it's like speaking to a teenager at all times, teenage rage and focus included. The other family members I'm aware of that got hooked on stuff like Fentanyl have either passed away or turned into thieves only caring for the next hit. Very depressing if I'm honest

I truly think the only solution is prevention but the blackpill scape of modern World doesn't bode well for that being successful.

I will also say regarding the depressoid topic I had a very similar experience in which I had spent years being depressed and ruminating in my teenage years until I looked in the mirror and realized how gay and cringe it was. I want to phrase it a different way but it's really what it took was that I realized being around other depressoids was insufferable so why should I continue to be like that?

I also think people just have zero tolerance for feeling sad, even in situations where it is called for. They'll do anything to avoid feelings of grief or any discomfort but feeling those emotions are a necessity even if it is unpleasant.

When my dad passed away I ended up watching him pass in the Hospital, it was obviously traumatic and I still get waves of sadness over it because I obviously miss and will miss my father for the rest of my life. When I speak to some circles of friends regarding this their first reaction is I should go be put on medication so I don't feel it. It's very confusing to me because it's obviously something that's meant to be sad, like you have to be able to cope with uncomfortable feelings without running to the doctor everytime. They were not too impressed with my thoughts on the matter since they are medicated.

Joseph Smith (as well as his father and some brothers) was a literal freemason before he founded the LDS church. Many of the rituals derive from masonry such as the use of symbolism, secrecy, strict ritual, and the end goal of man "evolving" to become better than God. They, of course, deny that. The fact that they were given the temples means they were selected to inherit them by the government. I don't see how that doesn't make them government agents.
