And those poor kids will never be the same. I grew up in adverse conditions, and I have struggled to keep my life somewhat straight. I have been largely successful, but only because I have hidden my demons from everybody. These kids have had it worse as best I can tell. I seriously hope they overcome.

To be fair, I think both men and women from millennial on down in age have an extreme hatred/fear of aging. They start doing insane things to stay relevant, at least the people who do not have any inner fulfillment. In Nick and Kayla's case I would think having kids should have met that need. Even without kids it isn't hard to not have a sperg meltdown over aging - as I said about Uncivil Law, if you can't have the romantic relationship you want, be a positive influence with your family and community in other ways.
Not my power level so I’ll explain. I worked with this dude about 20 years ago. Unlike balldoman he was a high power corporate salesman not a lawyer. So just a different kind of sleezey. I was assigned to him as trainee in sales. Anyway, similar story to Nick. Well off church going family man, attractive wife, 2 daughters, I think around 8 and 6 years old at the time. Only vice seemed to be speed. Bikes, cars, boats, etc. One Monday he’s no call no show. Claimed he was severely ill. Turns out he had gone to a swingers party. We found out because a grainy flip phone pic of his topless wife making out with a girl in a hot tub got out. So like Nick instead of trying to change he leaned into it. Got worse, more swinging, drugs and bragging about it. Around this time I left the company and lost touch. About 15 years later I found out that he bought his wife new tits and she promptly divorced him for a doctor, who in turn kicked her to the curb when he was done. Horrifically bitter divorce with both sides weaponized the kids. His career is destroyed and he’s working retail in his mid 50s. During all this the eldest daughter goes from goth, to scene, to lesbian feminist, to full blown, cut off her tits, embrace the woke, troon psychopath. Youngest daughter lived mostly with her grandmother during this vanashed at 18 disowning the whole family except the grandmother. She’s apparently OK. So if you want to know what I think will happen to Nick, it’s something like this.
Give it few more days, till 13th at least.

After everything that happened, she's still wanting to keep this guy around.
